ANALISIS PENERAPAN PROGRAM LEAN SIX SIGMA UNTUK PENINGKATAN EFISIENSI BIAYA DI THE HONGKONG AND SHANGHAI BANKING CORPORATION LIMITED (HSBC) INDONESIA

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan tambahan penghematan, baik dalam bentuk waktu dan rupiah, kepada The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) Indonesia, melalui penerapan program lean six sigma. Peneliti melakukan pengamatan langsung atas proses dan prosedur harian, mingguan dan bulanan yang dilakukan oleh salah satu divisi operasional HSBC Indonesia, yaitu divisi Global Markets Operations (GMO) selama periode September 2013 hingga Juli 2014. Peneliti menganalis tingkat keefektifan dan efisiensi berbagai proses dan prosedur, dan memperbaikinya dengan mengacu pada teori lean six sigma yang disajikan pada Bab II, dengan tetap patuh terhadap berbagai regulasi, kebijakan dan ketentuan yang ada. Peneliti membandingkan jumlah sumber daya (waktu dan rupiah) yang dibutuhkan untuk melakukan proses dan prosedur yang ada terhadap jumlah sumber daya yang diperlukan dengan perbaikan proses dan prosedur yang disarankan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 22 proses dan prosedur GMO yang tidak efektif dan efisien. Total penghematan yang dapat dicapai GMO dengan penerapan lean six sigma pada 22 proses dan prosedur adalah 474,83 jam (setara dengan 2,97 karyawan) dan tambahan penghematan langsung Rp 880.000 per bulan. Perbaikan dapat diimplementasikan pada 20 proses dan prosedur. Terdapat dua proses dan prosedur yang tidak dapat diimplementasikan karena memerlukan perpindahan server ke Indonesia yang memakan biaya sangat tinggi. Total penghematan yang dicapai GMO dengan pengimplementasian 20 proses dan prosedur adalah 154,83 jam (setara dengan 0,97 karyawan) dan tambahan penghematan langsung Rp 880.000 per bulan. Dalam satu tahun, total penghematan yang dapat dicapai adalah 1.858 jam dan Rp 10.560.000. Selain GMO, berbagai divisi yang terkait dengan operasi harian GMO juga merasakan keuntungan penerapan lean six sigma yang diterapkan di GMO.

The purpose of this study is to provide additional savings, in both time and cash, to The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) Indonesia, through the implementation of lean six sigma programs. The researcher conducted direct observations on daily, weekly and monthly processes and procedures performed by one of the operating divisions of HSBC Indonesia, Global Markets Operations (GMO), during September 2013 to July 2014. The researcher analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of the various processes and procedures, and fix it with reference to the lean six sigma theory that are presented in Chapter II, with adherence to various regulations and policies. The researcher compared the resources (time and cash) required to perform the current processes and procedures against the resources needed to do the suggested ones. The result shows that there are 22 processes and procedures that are not effectively and efficiently executed by GMO. The total savings that can be achieved with the implementation of lean six sigma in GMO on 22 processes and procedures are 474.83 hours (equivalent to 2.97 employees) and additional direct savings of IDR 880,000 per month. Improvements can be implemented on 20 processes and procedures. The lean six sigma can not be implemented in the remaining two processes and procedures because it requires a server migration to Indonesia that is really costly. The total savings achieved with the implementation of 20 processes and procedures are 154.83 hours (equivalent to 0.97 employees ) and additional direct savings of IDR 880,000 per month. In one year, the total savings that can be achieved is 1,858 hours and IDR 10,560,000. Besides GMO, various divisions associated with the daily operations of GMO will also experiencing the benefits of the lean six sigma implementation in GMO.
