Uji Sensitivitas Mycobacterium non tuberculosis Tipe Rapidly Growing terhadap Gentamisin dan Ofloksasin secara In Vitro

Latar Belakang: Prevalensi infeksi paru yang disebabkan oleh Mycobacterium non tuberculosis semakin meningkat. Tanda dan gejala yang ditimbulkan akibat infeksi Mycobacterium non tuberculosis memiliki kesamaan dengan infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis sehingga sulit dibedakan. Pengobatan untuk infeksi Mycobacterium non tuberculosis berbeda dengan infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tujuan: Mengetahui sensitivitas Mycobacterium non tuberculosis tipe rapidly growing terhadap antibiotik gentamisin dan ofloksasin. Metode: Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian deskriptif observasional. Subjek yang diteliti adalah Mycobacterium non tuberculosis tipe rapidly growing koleksi Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Gadjah Mada. Uji sensitivitas dinilai berdasarkan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) antibiotik gentamisin dan ofloksasin terhadap pertumbuhan Mycobacterium non tuberculosis dengan metode macrobroth dilution. Hasil: Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) Mycobacterium non tuberculosis terhadap antibiotik gentamisin, yaitu 4 dari 10 isolat (40%) dinyatakan sensitif, 3 dari 10 isolat (30%) dinyatakan intermediate, dan 3 dari 10 isolat (30%) dinyatakan resisten. Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) Mycobacterium non tuberculosis terhadap antibiotik ofloksasin, yaitu 1 dari 7 isolat (14,28%) dinyatakan intermediate dan 6 dari 7 isolat (85,71%) dinyatakan resisten. Kesimpulan: Antibiotik gentamisin memiliki aktivitas yang lebih poten dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Mycobacterium non tuberculosis tipe rapidly growing dibandingkan dengan antibiotik ofloksasin.

Backgrounds: Prevalence of pulmonary infection that caused by Nontuberculous mycobacteria increase. Sign and symptoms of infection caused by Nontuberculous mycobacteria similiar with tuberculous infection, so it will be hard to distinguish. Treatment for Nontuberculous mycobacteria infection is different with tuberculous infection. Objectives: To know rapidly growing mycobacteria sensitivity against gentamicin and ofloxacin. Methods: This study was observational descriptive study. The research subjects were clinical isolates of rapidly growing mycobacteria, collection of Microbiology Laboratory, faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The sensitivity testing assessed based on Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of gentamicin and ofloxacin antibiotics against the growth of rapidly growing mycobacteria using macrobroth dilution method. Results: Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of rapidly growing mycobacteria against gentamicin are 4 isolates (40%) sensitive, 3 isolates (30%) intermediate, and 3 isolates (30%) resistant. Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of rapidly growing mycobacteria against ofloxacin are 1 isolates (14,28%) intermediate and 6 isolates (85,71%) resistant. Conclutions: The activity of gentamicin is more potent to inhibit growth of rapidly growing mycobacteria compared to ofloksasin.
