Pengembangan Penggunaan e-Learning dalam Topik Keterampilan Clinical Reasoning Management Bencana di Skills Lab FK UGM

Latar Belakang : Indonesia merupakan Negara rawan bencana dengan lebih dari 600.000 korban setiap tahun. Untuk mengurangi angka kesakitan dan kematian diperlukan manajemen bencana yang baik. Manajemen tanggap bencana tidak terlepas dari pengambilan keputusan yang cepat dan dipengaruhi oleh keterampilan clinical reasoning, padahal kemampuan clinical reasoning mahasiswa tergolong rendah. Adanya inovasi eLearning yang fleksibel tempat, waktu, sumber belajar dan biaya dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media pelatihan keterampilan clinical reasoning mahasiswa. Tujuan Penelitian : Untuk mengetahui durasi, nilai dan waktu pengerjaan soal clinical reasoning mahasiswa serta mengeksplorasi manfaat, kerugian dan saran penggunaan media eLearning. Metode Penelitian : Penelitian merupakan jenis deskriptif dengan melibatkan 80 mahasiswa. Mahasiswa diminta menyelesaikan soal clinical reasoning dan kuesioner pada media e-Learning atau kertas. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah durasi, waktu, dan nilai antara kelompok e-Learning dan paper. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi manfaat, kerugian, dan saran penggunaan e-Learning. Variabel diuji menggunakan Mann-Whitney Test dan Independent Sample Test pada program SPSS. Hasil Penelitian : Subyek yang diteliti berjumlah 60 mahasiswa. Analisis statistika menunjukkan durasi pengerjaan soal web-based dan paper-based berbeda signifikan (p=0,001), nilai dan durasi pengerjaan kelompok mahasiswa web-based saat jam kerja dan diluar jam kerja tidak berbeda signifikan (p nilai=0,687; p durasi=0,537), dan rata-rata nilai pada kelompok web-based dan paper-based tidak berbeda signifikan(p=0,169). Kesimpulan : E-Learning lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan media konvensional dalam efisiensi waktu dan menunjukkan nilai yang lebih tinggi meskipun tidak signifikan secara statistik.

Background : Indonesia is a disaster-prone country with more than 600,000 casualties every year. A good disaster management is essential to reduce morbidity and mortality rate during disaster. Disaster response management requires rapid decision-making and clinical reasoning skill, despite the fact that clinical reasoning skill of students was still low. Therefore, e-Learning, which is flexible in terms of place, time, study resource and cost, can be used as a media to train clinical reasoning skill. Objective: To know the duration, time and score of students to answer the clinical reasoning questions and to explore the benefit, disadvantage and other advice to improve the use of e-Learning media. Methods: This research employed descriptive method and involved 80 students. Students were asked to answer clinical reasoning questions and fill a questionnaire using either eLearning media or paper. The duration, time, and score needed by students to answer the questions from both groups were compared using Mann-Whitney Test and Independent Sample Test in SPSS. Results: 60 students was involved. Statistical analysis showed that the duration to answer web-based and paper-based questions differed significantly (p = 0.001), the score and duration of the working hours and after hours group did not differ significantly (p = 0.687 and p = 0.537 respectively), and the average score of web-based and paper-based group did not differ significantly (p = 0.169). Conclusion: E-Learning was found to have more benefit compared to conventional media in terms of time efficiency and increased the score although not significantly.
