KAJIAN LABORATORIUM PENGGUNAAN ASPAL MODIFIKASI ELASTOMER PADA HOT ROLLED SHEET BASE (HRS-BASE) DENGAN ZEOLIT SEBAGAI FILLER

2015 | Tesis | S2 Sistem dan Teknik TransportasiPenggunaan aspal modifikasi bertujuan untuk mendesain perkerasan dengan kepekaan sekecil mungkin terhadap suhu dan ketahanan deformasi terhadap beban lalulintas. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengevaluasi kinerja aspal modifikasi elastomer dengan penambahan alternatif filler zeolit. Zeolit memiliki banyak manfaat dan kelebihan, sehingga diharapkan potensi zeolit tersebut dapat dikelola dan dikembangkan dalam mendukung sektor infrasturktur, khususnya konstruksi perkerasan jalan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan campuran HRS-Base, dimana perancangan benda uji dilakukan dalam lima variasi filler, yaitu variasi satu (0% zeolit), variasi dua (25% zeolit), variasi tiga (50% zeolit), variasi empat (75% zeolit), dan variasi lima (100% zeolit). Karakteristik aspal dan agregat diperoleh melalui pengujian sifat fisik aspal dan agregat, kemudian setelah mendapatkan kadar aspal optimum setiap variasi, dilakukan pengujian Marshall (perendaman 30 menit dan 24 jam) dan pengujian Indirect Tensile Strength. Hasil penelitian diperoleh kadar aspal optimum untuk variasi 1 (7,4%), variasi 2 (7,1%), variasi 3 (7,0%), variasi 4 (6,8%), dan variasi 5 (6,5%). Kinerja campuran setelah KAO, berdasarkan hasil uji Marshall diperoleh nilai Stabilitas Marshall standar 2078,8 Kg (variasi 1), 2061,7 Kg (variasi 2), 2005,1 kg (variasi 3), 2089,8 Kg (variasi 4), dan 2023, 9 Kg (variasi 5). Pada pengujian perendaman Marshall semua variasi memenuhi persyaratan kecuali variasi lima (87,8%), dimana persyaratan minimum 90%. Hasil pengujian TSR dengan membandingkan nilai ITS Conditioned dengan ITS Unconditioned diperoleh nilai TSR 95% (variasi 1), 93,3 % (variasi 2), 92,3% (variasi 3), 91,5% (variasi 4), dan 90,3% (variasi 5), dimana persyaratan minimum sebesar 80%. Secara umum hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa filler zeolit dapat dijadikan sebagai pengganti debu batu sebagai filler dalam campuran HRS-Base dan campuran yang paling optimal di tunjukkan pada variasi 4 (75% zeolit), dengan kadar aspal 6,8%. The aim of the use of modified asphalt is to design pavement with the lowest senstivity towards temperature and deformation resistance againts traffic loads. This research is conducted to evaluate the performance of elastomeric modified asphalt by adding alternative zeolite filler. Zeolite has many benefits and advantages, that its potency can be managed and developed to support the infrastructure, particularly pavement construction in Indonesia. This study uses mixture HRS-Base with five filler variations in specimen design i.e. variation 1 (0% zeolite), variation 2 (25% zeolite), variation 3 (50% zeolite), variation 4 (75% zeolite), variation 5 (100% zeolite). Characteristic of asphalt and aggregates obtained by examining the physical properties of asphalt and aggregate, then after getting the optimum bitumen content of each variation, Marshall test (immersion of 30 minutes and 24 hours) and the Indirect Tensile Strength test are conducted. The results of the research obtained optimum bitumen content for variation 1 (7.4%), variation 2 (7.1%), variation 3 (7.0%), variations 4 (6.8%), and variation 5 (6.5 %). Mixture performance after optimum bitumen content based on Marshall test possesses Marshall Stability standard as follows 2078.8 Kg (variation 1), 2061.7 Kg (variation 2), 2005.1 kg (variation 3), 2089.8 Kg (4 variations), and 2023, 9 Kg (variation 5). At Marshall immersion test all variation meets the requirements except for variation 5 (87.8%), where the minimum requirement is 90%. TSR test by comparing the value of ITS conditioned and ITS unconditioned resulted in TSR values as follows 95% (variation 1), 93.3% (variation 2), 92.3% (variation 3), 91.5% (variation 4), and 90,3% (variation 5), where the minimum requirement is 80%. In general, the test results showed that zeolite can be used as a substitute for stone dust as filler in HRS-Base and the optimum mix shown in variation 4 (75% zeolite), with the asphalt content of 6.8%.
