STRATEGI DAN POSISI ABDURAHMAN FAIZ DALAM ARENA SASTRA INDONESIA PASCA-ORDE BARU: ANALISIS PRODUKSI KULTURAL PIERRE BOURDIEU

Penelitian ini berjudul Strategi dan Posisi Abdurahman Faiz dalam Arena Sastra Indonesia Pasca-Orde Baru: Analisis Produksi Kultural Pierre Bourdieu. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah fenomena kepengarangan Faiz. Berdasarkan karya Aku Ini Puisi Cinta, Faiz yang belia mampu mendapatkan konsekrasi dalam arena sastra anak dan mampu menarik perhatian dari kalangan sastrawan terkonsekrasi di arena sastra Indonesia. Padahal, dalam arena sastra Indonesia pasca-Orde Baru, masih terdapat jarak antara sastra anak dan sastra Indonesia yang berisi sastrawan dewasa. Selain itu, keberterimaan terhadap kepengarangan Faiz pun diapresiasi oleh otoritas pemegang pemerintahan juga tokoh sosialpolitik Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan teori Arena Produksi Kultural Bourdieu, penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menemukan jawaban atas permasalahan-permasalahan, seperti pertama, struktur arena kekuasaan dan arena sastra Indonesia pasca-Orde Baru yang menjadi ruang sosial Faiz dalam melakukan praktik. Kedua, trajektori dan akumulasi modal Faiz dalam pertarungan perebutan posisi dan legitimasi dalam arena sastra Indonesia pasca-Orde Baru. Ketiga, kumpulan puisi Aku Ini Puisi Cinta sebagai representasi strategi dan posisi Faiz dalam arena sastra Indonesia pasca-Orde Baru. Pada penelitian ini, struktur arena sastra yang dipengaruhi oleh struktur arena kekuasaan Indonesia pasca-Orde Baru memberikan ruang kompetisi yang lebih terbuka bagi berbagai agen dengan segala bentuk strategi dari rangkaian habitus dan akumulasi modalnya. Melalui terbukanya ruang-ruang kemungkinan dalam arena sastra yang mencakup segmentasi dan ragam tematik, antara lain anak dan remaja; lokalitas, seksualitas; dan Islami, Faiz berstrategi menunjukkan ‘tanda distingtif’ dari pengarang lainnya dengan predikat antara anak dan dewasa. Artinya, trajektori Faiz bergerak dari arena sastra anak menuju arena sastra Indonesia yang didominasi sastrawan dewasa. Dalam arena sastra Indonesia, Faiz berstrategi dengan bekal akumulasi modal kultural, sosial, simbolis, hingga ekonomi yang diperolehnya dari habitus keluarga penulis dan karier kepengarangannya. Selain itu, melalui kumpulan puisi Aku Ini Puisi, Faiz pun melakukan penyesuaian berupa karya kompilasi yang dilengkapi dengan serangkaian endorsement dan kata pengantar dari sastrawan terkonsekrasi. Namun, struktur arena sastra Indonesia ternyata tidak memberi ruang bagi pengarang ataupun karya sastra anak untuk mendapat legitimasi simbolis. Legitimasi simbolis dalam arena ini lebih didasarkan pada prinsip seni untuk seni. Oleh karena itu, strategi Faiz pun tidak dapat dikodekan dalam arena sastra Indonesia pasca-Orde Baru. Alhasil, Faiz tidak menempati posisi terkonsekrasi dalam arena sastra Indonesia. Strategi yang diterapkan dalam karier kepengarangan Faiz justru dikodekan dalam ruang sosial, tempat arena kekuasaan berada pada kutub dominan. Akhirnya, pada ruang sosial inilah Faiz mengkonversi dan mereproduksi modal kultural, sosial, ekonomi, dan simbolis sehingga mengukuhkan dirinya dalam posisi dominan. This study titled The Strategy and the Position of Abdurahman Faiz in Indonesian Literature Field After the New Order: The Analysis of Cultural Production by Pierre Bourdieu. The background of this study is the authorship phenomenon of Faiz. Through the work of Aku Ini Puisi Cinta, the young Faiz is able to get consecration in children’s literature field and catching the attention of consecrated writers in Indonesian literature field. Nevertheless, in Indonesian literature field after the New Order, there are distances between children’s literature and Indonesian literature which is dominated by adult writers. Besides, the acceptance of Faiz’s authorship is also appreciated by the holding authority in government and also by Indonesian social-political figure. Using the theory of Cultural Production Field by Bourdieu, this study is aimed to figure out the answers of the research problems. The first is the structure of power field and Indonesian literature field after the New Order where it becomes the social space of Faiz in doing his practice. The second is the trajectory and the modal accumulation of Faiz in getting position and legitimation in Indonesian literature field after the New Order. The third is, the anthology of Aku Ini Puisi Cinta becomes the representation of Faiz’s strategy and position in Indonesian literature field after New Order. In this study, the structure of the field of literature which is influenced by the structure of the field of power in Indonesia after the New Order is opening wider competition spaces for various agents with any forms of strategy from the series of habitus and the modal accumulation. Through the possibility spaces in the field of literature including segmentation and various thematic, such as children and teenager; locality, sexuality; and Islamic, Faiz strategizes to show ‘distinctive code’ from other writers with the predicate of children and adult. It means that the trajectory of Faiz moves from the field of children’s literature to the field of Indonesian literature which is dominated by adult writers. In the field of Indonesian literature, Faiz uses strategy with bringing up the accumulation of cultural modal, social, symbolic, and economic he got from the habitus of his family writers and his authorship career. Besides, through the the work of Aku Ini Puisi, Faiz makes adjustments in the form of making compilation completed with series of endorsements and the preface form the consecrated writers. Nevertheless, the structure of the field of Indonesian literature does not give spaces for the writers or works of children’s literature to get symbolic legitimation. The symbolic legitimation in this field based on the arts principal. Therefore, the strategy of Faiz can be encoded in the field of Indonesian literature after New Order. As the result, Faiz does not occupy the consecration position in the field of Indonesian literature. The strategy used by Faiz in his authorship career is encoded in social space, the field of power in dominant pole. Finally, in this social space, Faiz converting and reproducing the cultural modal, social, economic, and symbolic in order to declare himself in dominant position.
