PENGARUH KELEMBABAN TANAH TERHADAP MOBILITAS VERTIKAL LARVA DAN PENERBANGAN Lepidiota stigma

Lepidiota stigma saat fase larva berpotensi sebagai hama perusak akar, sedangkan saat imago dapat menyebabkan kerusakan daun pada tanaman. Perubahan kelembaban tanah dan pengaruhnya terhadap L. stigma belum diteliti, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian. Pencatatan kegiatan Scarabaeidae dapat dijadikan referensi pada manajemen pengendaliannya. Penelitian Ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kelembaban tanah terhadap jumlah penerbangan imago dan pergerakan vertikal larva Lepidiota stigma. Pengamatan dilakukan di halaman selatan gedung rektorat Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta sejak bulan September 2013 sampai Mei 2014. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kelembaban tanah memiliki hubungan terhadap jumlah penerbangan imago dan pergerakan vertikal larva L. stigma instar ketiga. Hubungan kelembaban tanah berbanding lurus dengan jumlah penerbangan L. stigma. Hubungan kelembaban tanah berbanding terbalik dengan kedalaman larva. Pencatatan kelembaban tanah sangat diperlukan untuk memprediksi jumlah penerbangan kumbang dan letak kedalaman larva L. stigma sejak awal penerbangan. Pencatatan tersebut penting karena secara statistik menunjukkan variabel kelembaban tanah memiliki dampak positif dan signifikan terhadap jumlah penerbangan kumbang dan letak kedalaman larva L. stigma instar ketiga.

Lepidiota stigma when in larval stage is a potentially destructive pests in the root area, whereas when it is in the imago phase can cause damage to the leaves on the plan. Soil moisture change and its effect on L. stigma has not been studied yet. The record of Scarabaeidae activity can be used as a reference to control management. This study aimed to determine the relationship of soil moisture on the number of adult flight and vertical movement of larvae L. stigma. Observations were made on the South Lawn of the rectorate building Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta since September 2013 to May 2014. The results showed that soil moisture has a relationship to the number of adult flight and vertical movements as third instar larvae of L. stigma. Soil moisture relationship is directly proportional to the number of L. stigma flights. Soil moisture is inversely proportional to the soil depth of the larvae. Soil moisture record is indispensable to predict the amount of flying beetles and larvae of L. stigma lies depth since the beginning of flight. The records are important because it is statistically showed that soil moisture variable has a positive and significant impact on the number and location of the beetle flight and depth of the third instar larvae of L. stigma.
