PENGARUH KONSENTRASI ABU VULKANIK GUNUNG MERAPI TERHADAP KUALITAS AIR DAN SINTASAN IKAN NILA MERAH (Oreochromis sp.) PADA TAHAP PENDEDERAN

2015 | Skripsi | S1 BUDIDAYA PERIKANANPenelitian telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi abu vulkanik Gunung Merapi terhadap kualitas air dan sintasan benih ikan nila merah (Oreochromis sp.) pada tahap pendederan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dari perlakuan konsentrasi abu vulkanik dalam media air pemeliharaan benih ikan nila merah. Benih ikan nila ukuran 5 - 8 cm dipelihara dalam akuarium (ukuran 35 x 40 x 30 cm3) dengan padat tebar 10 ekor/akuarium selama 58 hari. Perlakuan 5 konsentrasi abu vulkanik pada media air akuarium tersebut terdiri dari; 0 g/l, 50 g/l, 100 g/l, 150 g/l, dan 200 g/l. Masing-masing akuarium tersebut terdiri dari 3 ulangan. Pakan yang diberikan berupa pakan komersil (pelet) berkadar protein 34 % diberikan sebanyak 5 % dari total biomassa dengan frekuensi pemberian pakan 3 kali sehari. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap kualitas air dan sintasan benih ikan nila. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji F. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi abu vulkanik hingga 200 g/l menyebabkan turbiditas, alkalinitas, kesadahan, padatan terlarut total dan padatan tersuspensi total semakin tinggi, tetapi penambahan abu vulkanik tidak mempengaruhi suhu, oksigen terlarut, derajat keasaman, konduktivitas, karbondioksida bebas, amonia dan sulfat. Konsentrasi abu vulkanik semakin tinggi menyebabkan sintasan dan pertumbuhan mutlak total semakin rendah, serta menyebabkan kerusakan lamela insang semakin parah.
This research was conducted to determine the effect of Merapi Mountain volcanic ash concentration to water quality and red tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) fry survival rate in the nursery stage. This research used Completely Randomized Design methode with Merapi mountain volcanic ash treatment in the water media of red tilapia culture. Red tilapia fry sized 5-8 cm were reared in the 35 x 40 x 30 cm3 aquarium stocked 10 red tilapia fries for 58 days. The treatments of volcanic ash concentration in the media cultivation water were 0 g/l, 50 g/l, 100 g/l, 150 g/l, and 200 g/l. Each treatment consisted of three replications. Feed which used in this research was commercial feed contained 34% crude protein content, fed 5% from total biomass three times a day. The collected data were water quality and red tilapia fry survival rate. The collected data were analyzed using F test. The result showed that the increase volcanic ash concentration up to 200 g/l increased turbidity, alkalinity, hardness, total suspended solids, and total dissolved solids of water but did not affect to temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, free carbon-dioxide, ammonia, and sulfuric of water. The higher concentration of volcanic ash decrease the survival rate and total absolute growth and also worsen the lamella gill damage.
