The objective of this study was to investigate the best adhesive substrate media for coral transplantation interm of survival rate, growth, and growth rate of A. millepora. There were six adhesive media substrate which were tested, namely: putty, portland cement, mixture of portland cement and white cement, mixture of portland cement and gypsum, epoxy glue, and cyanoacrylate glue. Data was collected weekly from July to September 2014 by measuring coral height, coral width, accretion of coral branches, and the water parameter. Coral growth was measured using calipers after a week transplantation. The water parameter that were measured namely: temperature, current speed, brightness, and salinity. The result showed that among the adhesive media substrates which were tested the survival rate of A. millepora at 100% except in planting by using cyanoacrylate glue which only 50%. A. millepora has the fastest growth of height at 1,98 mm/month in the cyanoacrylate treatment, the fastest growth of width at 3,68 mm/month in the mixture of portland cement and white cement treatment, and the fastest growth of branches were 23 branches/month, obtained from putty treatment. A. millepora had an equal average growth rate of height and width. However, there were significant difference at the growth rate of branches among putty treatment (control) with three other treatments, that were the mixture of portland cement and gypsum, epoxy glue, and cyanoacrylate glue (α = 5%). As overall, adhesive media substrates which were tested can be applied for coral transplantation.
