REPRESENTASI TINDAK KEKERASAN TERHADAP TOKOH UTAMA PEREMPUAN DALAM NOVEL SYNGUE SABOUR-PIERRE DE PATIENCE KARYA ATIQ RAHIMI (ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA ROLAND BARTHES)

INTISARI Banyak konflik terjadi di tiap-tiap negara yang berbeda. Hal tersebut menjadi penyebab terciptanya berbagai jenis kekerasan yang menimpa siapapun, termasuk perempuan. Pada penelitian ini digunakan objek material novel yang di dalamnya banyak terdapat unsur-unsur kekerasan terhadap perempuan yaitu novel Syngue sabour-Pierre de patience karya Atiq Rahimi. Dalam novel dikisahkan tentang kehidupan seorang perempuan yang tinggal di tengah hiruk pikuk sebuah wilayah berkonflik. Selama hidupnya ia mengalami berbagai jenis kekerasan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menganalisis tanda-tanda kekerasan yang terjadi dengan menggunakan teori denotasi dan konotasi Roland Barthes, sehingga dapat mengungkapkan sesuatu yang bermakna lain dari apa yang dituliskan dalam novel. Pada proses pemaknaannya tanda bekerja melalui mitos yaitu bagaimana kebudayaan menjelaskan atau memahami beberapa aspek tentang realitas atau gejala alam. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, ditemukan bahwa representasi kekerasan terhadap perempuan terjadi dikarenakan adanya budaya dominasi laki-laki.

ABSTRACT There are lots of conflicts in different countries. They become the cause of various violences to everyone, including women. In this research, the writer use a novel Syngue sabour-Pierre de patience as a material object which are many samples of violences against women, the novel is written by Atiq Rahimi. In this novel he explained about a woman who live in the village where the conflict are often occured. The women experienced various kind of violences during her life time. In this research, the writer analyzed the signs of the violence by using the theory of denotation and connotation by Roland Barthes, so as to reveal something meaningful other than what is written in the novel. In the process of meanings, signs worked through the Myth, how the culture explains or understands some aspect of reality or natural phenomenon. It is found that representation of violences against women occurs because the culture of male domination.
