Analisis Countdown Timer di Traffic Light terhadap Driving Behavior

Lampu lalu lintas (traffic light) merupakan alat bantu yang digunakan untuk mengatur pergerakan kendaraan di suatu simpang. Lampu lalu lintas yang terpasang saat ini telah banyak dilengkapi dengan penghitung waktu mundur (countdown timer). Fungsi countdown timer adalah untuk mengetahui waktu yang tersedia setiap fase sehingga memudahkan pengendara dalam mengambil keputusan kapan akan mulai jalan maupun berhenti. Ada tiga jenis traffic light yang terpasang di simpang yaitu, non countdown timer, countdown timer, dan countdown timer running text. Dengan adanya perbedaan kondisi traffic light tersebut, kemungkinan dapat mempengaruhi perilaku berkendara. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan yang terjadi pada perilaku pengendara dengan membandingkan kondisi traffic light yang berbeda. Pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalah membandingkan perilaku pengendara di traffic light dengan kondisi non countdown timer, countdown timer, dan countdown timer running text. Sementara itu, pemilihan lokasi penelitian berdasarkan pada volume kendaraan, jumlah fase, dan kondisi geometris simpang. Sedangkan, indikator yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari nilai lost time, jumlah early start, jumlah pelanggaran, dan kecepatan kendaraan. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan rekaman kamera pada setiap kondisi traffic light. Untuk membandingkan kondisi traffic light apakah ada perbedaan atau tidak, maka pengolahan data menggunakan uji t-test untuk data parametrik, dan uji wilcoxon signed rank test untuk data non parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan nilai lost time antara traffic light non countdown timer dengan traffic light countdown timer, baik yang menggunakan running text maupun tidak. Nilai lost time mengalami penurunan ketika traffic light terpasang countdown timer. Sementara untuk jumlah early start juga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan, yaitu jumlahnya meningkat ketika terpasang countdown timer baik dengan running text ataupun tidak. Sedangkan jumlah pelanggaran lampu merah menunjukkan adanya perbedaan, yaitu jumlahnya meningkat ketika traffic light dalam kondisi non countdown timer. Namun, untuk kecepatan kendaraan tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan, baik pada traffic light dengan kondisi sebelum maupun sesudah terpasang countdown timer.

Traffic light is an auxiliary equipment which is used to manage the vehicles' movement at the conjuction. Trafic lights used today have been equipped with countdown timer. Its function is to know the available time of each phase in order to help the drivers decide whether they start to go or to stop. there are three types of traffic light used at the conjuction which are non countdown timer, countdown timer, and countdown timer running text. By having different condition of the traffic lights, there is a possibility to influence the driving behaviour. this research aims is to know whether there is a difference or not happened to the drivers' behaviour by comparing different kinds of traffic lights condition. The method used in this research is comparing the behaviour of the drivers at the traffic light using non countdown timer, countdown timer, and countdown running text. Aside from that, the the choice of the research's location is based on the volume of vehicles, the total of the phase, and the geometry's condition of the conjuction. Meanwhile, the indicators using in this research consist of the lost time value, the number of the early start, the number of the trespassing, and the vehicles' speed. The method of collecting data uses the camera recording on every condition of the traffic light. To compare the condition of traffic light whether there is a difference or not, the method of analyzing data uses the t-test to parametric data, and the wilcoxon signed rank test to the non parametric data. The output of this research shows that there is a significantly different number of the lost time between the traffic light non countdown timer and the traffic light countdown timer, both the one using a running text and does not. The number of the lost time is going down when the traffic lights uses the countdown timer. Besides, the total of the early start also shows the difference that its total is increased when the running text countdown timer or the the non running text one is equipped. Meanwhile, the number of the trespassing of the red light indicates the difference which is its number raises when the traffic light is non countdown timer. However, for the vehicles' speed, there is no sign of the significant difference, both on the traffic light before and after the countdown timer is equipped.
