Dongeng ini dipilih karena ceritanya yang sederhana namun mengandung nilai-nilai positif dalam kehidupan sehari hari. Penulis mengunakan metode komunikatif dalam menerjemahkan dongeng ini,. Metode komunikatif adalah sebuah metode penerjemahan yang berusaha mempertahankan makna kontekstual yang tepat dari bahasa sumber, sehingga baik isi maupun bahasanya dapat diterima dan dipahami oleh pembaca. Dongeng Yamanashitori bercerita tentang tiga orang anak yang berusaha mengambil buah pir gunung untuk ibunya yang sedang sakit. Setelah saudara pertama dan kedua gagal karena tidak mau mendengarkan perkataan orang tua yang ada di gunung, akhirnya saudara ketiga berhasil karena mau mendengarkan perkataan dan nasehat orang tua tersebut. Damasaretadorobo Bercerita tentang seorang kakek bersama nenek yang mengelabuhi pencuri. Ketika kakek dan nenek akan tidur, kakek mendengar suara deritan langkah pencuri yang masuk di rumah mereka. Akhirnya kakek memiliki cara supaya rumah mereka tidak kecurian, menangkap basah pencuri dan mendapatkan keuntungan. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam dongeng ini. Pertama, kita harus mendengarkan dan menghormati perkataan orang tua. Kedua, kita harus tetap waspada, tidak boleh lengah serta cerdik dalam menghadapi masalah atau keaadan.
The tittle of this final project is "The Translation of Yamanashitori and Damasaretadorobo Fairy Tale". Those fairy tales are chosen by writer because that stories are simple but it contains of positive value in our daily life. The translation method of those fairy tales are communicative method. This communicative method, is as one of translation methods that maintains the true contextual meaning from it sources language. So, both of the contains and the language can be understood also can be accepted by target reader. Yamanashitori fairy tale tells us about the story of three children who try to take mountain pear for their mother who was ill. After the first and second children filed because they didnt listen to the other people advises. The third children succeed to take a pear mountain because he listens to other people advices and suggestions are given to him. Damasaretadorobo fairy tale tells us about an old man and an old woman who outsmarts thieves. When they will go to sleep, old man hears steps of the thief who enters in their home. Finally, the old man has a way to catch the thiefs and get benefit from them. The values are contain in both of those fairy tale: first, we need to listen to the other people good advise and good suggestions.
