Santosa, Ir, M.S. 2014 ABSTRAKSI Berkembangnya industri kendaraan roda dua terus meningkat, menurut data dari Gabungan Industri Motor Indonesia (AISI) menunjukan jumlah populasi kendaraan hingga tahun 2010 lalu mencapai 50.824.128 unit yang menjadikan Indonesia menempati urutan pertama di Kawasan Asia Tenggara. Dengan banyaknya populasi kendaraan motor tentunya meningkatkan jumlah pengendara sepeda motor yang sering di sebut 'BIKERS'. Tetapi meskipun demikian para Bikers masih belum puas dengan model kendaraan yang ada, maka dari itu banyak para itu mereka membuat model-model yang sesuai dengan kreasi mereka sendiri ataupun di bantu oleh modifikator demi memenuhi penampilan kendaraannya maupun untuk mengikuti kontes modifikasi kendaraan roda dua. Disisi lain keberadaan modifikator di Indonesia, tepatnya di Yogyakarta sangatlah terbatas. Ada beberapa modifikator namun terkendala oleh keberadaan tempat, jarak dari pusat kota, lokasi yang tidak memenuhi, dan pemilihan model modifikasi tanpa menggunakan model / contoh. Pembangunan pusat modifikasi dan showroom merupakan jawaban atas permasalahan tersebut. Perancangan bangunan pusat modifikasi dan showroom ini menggabungkan antara 5 kelas modifikasi dengan showroom sebagai tempat pemasaran produknya yang harus memiliki hubungan antar ruang yang baik, sehingga proses produksi di dalamnya berjalan lancar. Karena memiliki intensitas aktifitas yang tinggi pada siang hari, pusat modifikasi dan showroom ini haruslah memiliki pencahayaan dan penghawaan alami agar aktifitas produksi didalamnya berjalan dengan baik dan dapat menghemat energi.

Santosa, Ir, M.S. 2014 Abstract The development of motorcycle industry is increasing gradually. According to Gabungan Industri Motor Indonesia (AISI), there are 50.824.128 units of motorcycles until 2010 which makes Indonesia becomes the first country that has the biggest numbers of motorcycles in Southeast Asia. It is followed by the increasing of riders which are called �Bikers�. However, Bikers still want to modify their motorcycles based on their own creativities due to they haven�t been satisfied with the recent model of the motorcycle. Therefore, they create their own models by themselves or they are helped by modificators (people who expert in modifying vehicles). Bikers do modification to make higher performance of their bikes and also to get prepared for joining any contest. On the other hand, the existence of modificators especially in Yogyakarta is limited. There are few of them yet there are some obstacles followed such as the place, its distance from the centre of the city, the location itself and also the choosing of the modified model without any sample or model? Since we have known that those obstacles are being appeared, the establishment of the modification centre and showroom emerges to be the solution of the problem. The building planning of the modification centre and showroom combines the five modification classes with a showroom as the marketing place which should has good integration within one and another room. It aims to make the production process goes well. Since it has high intensity of the activity in the day, it is necessary to have good lighting and good air circulation in order to be able to have a good production process and to be able to save the energy.
