ESTIMASI RIPITABILITAS TERHADAP BEBERAPA SIFAT REPRODUKSI SAPI BRAHMAN DI BALAI PEMBIBITAN TERNAK UNGGUL (BPTU)-HIJAUAN PAKAN TERNAK (HPT) SEMBAWA SUMATRA SELATAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai ripitabilitas sifat reproduksi calving interval dan post partum mating sapi Brahman di BPTU-HPT Sembawa, Sumatra Selatan. Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah catatan reproduksi dari 161 ekor sapi Brahman betina dari tahun 2007 sampai 2013. Estimasi nilai ripitabilitas calving interval dan post partum mating menggunakan metode antar kelas dan dalam kelas. Nilai ripitabilitas untuk calving interval metode dalam kelas yaitu 0,15±0,14 sedangkan metode antar kelas yaitu 0,23±0,16 dan untuk nilai post partum mating metode dalam kelas yaitu 0,23±0,12 sedangkan untuk metode antar kelas yaitu 0,21±0,11. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut bahwa nilai ripitabilitas sifat reproduksi untuk calving interval dan post partum mating sapi brahman di BPTU-HPT Sembawa, Sumatra Selatan tergolong sedang dan positif.

This research was conducted to estimate a repeatability value on several reproduction characteristics of Brahman cow at BPTU-HPT, sembawa, South Sumatra. Reproduction record of 161 head of female brahman cow from 2007 to 2013 were used in this research. Repeatabiliy value was estimated for calving interval and post partum mating using interclass and intraclass correlation methods. The result indicated that value repeatability of calving interval by interclass method were 0.15±0.14, whereas by interclass methods were 0.23±0.16. Repeatability of post partum mating value by intraclass methods were 0.23±0.12, whereas by interclass methods were 0.21±0.11. Based on the result, the value repeatability reproduction characteristics of calving interval and post partum mating Brahman cow at BPTU-HPT Sembawa, South Sumatra as classified medium and positive.
