TIPOLOGI GATE DI DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA

Munculnya berbagai macam fenomena gate di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dengan berbagai teritori dan otoritasnya yang ada di dalamnya diduga memiliki hubungan dengan identitas dan jati diri dari Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami fenomena gate tersebut melalui studi tipologi yang meliputi : (a) tipologi berdasarkan fungsi gate ; (b) tipologi berdasarkan morfologi gate ; (c) tipologi berdasarkan topologi gate ; dan (d) faktor-faktor apa yang mempengaruhi keseragaman serta keragaman dari tipologi gate tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rasionalistik dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Fenomena gate dikaji berdasarkan kondisi empiris dan juga berdasarkan kerangka teoritik, dan pembahasan dilakukan secara deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini terdiri dari 30 sample yang meliputi 4 gate otoritas pemerintah; 4 gate otoritas kawasan khusus; 12gate otoritas kampung ; dan 10 gate otoritas real estate. Parameter fungsi gate meliputi fungsi sebagai identitas, akses dan keamanan. Parameter morfologi meliputi bentuk dasar, komposisi dan skala. Parameter topologi meliputi batas teritori, perletakan gate dalam teritori dan kestrategisan letak gate. Hasil studi yang didapatkan adalah : pertama , gate mempunyai fungsi utama sebagai identitas, pada otoritas real estate yang bersifat komersil fungsi gate berkembang untuk fungsi akses dan keamanan. Kedua, bentuk gate pada otoritas pemerintah, kawasan khusus dan kampung memiliki bentuk yang lebih sederhana dengan simbol-simbol budaya jawa; komposisi masa yang simetris bersifat formal. Sedangkan pada otoritas real estate gate memiliki bentuk yang lebih atraktif , modern sesuai dengan mode dan trend yang berkembang ; memiliki ruang untuk fungsi keamanan; komposisi masa bervariasi simetris dan asimetris. Ketiga, semua gate diletakkan pada tempat yang strategis di batas teritori dari setiap otoritas. Pada otoritas non komersil batas teritori bersifat abstrak. Sedangkan pada otoritas real estate batas teritori terlihat masif dan berhubungan langsung dengan gate untuk menunjang fungsi keamanan. Keempat, keberagaman tipologi dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan karakter dari setiap otoritas yang dapat dibagi menjadi dua kategori antara lain otoritas yang bersifat komersil dan otoritas yang bersifat non komersil. The emergence of various phenomena gate in Yogyakarta with a variety of territory and authority in it allegedly has links with identity and the identity of Yogyakarta. This study aims to understand the phenomenon of the gate through typology studies which include: (a) typology based gate function; (B) typology based on the morphology of the gate; (C) typology based on the topology of the gate; and (d) the factors that affect the uniformity and diversity of the gate typology. This research uses rationalistic methods with qualitative approach. The phenomenon of gate is examined based on the empirical conditions and also based on the theory framework, and the discussion conducted in descriptive. The population of this research consists of 30 sample that includes a 4 gates of Government authorities; 4 gates of special district authority; 12 gates of village authority ; and 10 gates of real estate authority. Function parameters gate includes a function as identity, access and security. Morphological parameters include basic shapes, composition and scale. Topology parameters include territorial boundaries, gate placement in the territory and kestrategisan gate layout and strategic placement. The result of the study were: first, the gate has a primary function as identity, on the commercial-real estate authority gates developed into security and access functions. Second, the shape of the gate on the authority of government, special district and village has a simpler form with symbols of Javanese culture; symmetrical composition express formality. While the real estate authority gate has a more attractive, modern fit with life style and trends are evolving; it have room for security functions; the composition of the symmetrical and asymmetrical varies. Third, all gate have a strategic placement of each authority. On the authority of a non commercial character of territorial limits of abstract. While the real estate authority limits the territory looks massive and relate directly to the gate in order to support the security function. Fourth, its diversity of typologies are affected by differences in the character of any authority that can be divided into two categories, namely : commercial authority and non commercial authority.
