Analisis Self-directed Learning (SDL) Mahasiswa dan Partisipasi Dukungan Institusi sebagai Faktor Eksternal: Studi Kasus pada Politeknik Palu Sulawesi Tengah

Latar belakang: Perubahan paradigma pembelajaran berpusat pada peserta didik yang diterapkan pada perguruan tinggi serta konsepsi mahasiswa sebagai pembelajar dewasa (adult learning), memberikan tuntutan peran yang harus diemban oleh dosen sebagai delivery system dan sarana pendukung, sedangkan mahasiswa beresensikan sikap proaktif dan kemandirian dalam belajar (self-directed learning). Salah satu perguruan tinggi yang mendukung pengembangan peran tersebut adalah Politeknik Palu Sulawesi Tengah, yang telah memberikan berbagai dukungan untuk terciptanya self-directed learning mahasiswa. Namun guna tindakan evaluasi dan pengembangan institusi belum memiliki data yang menggambarkan sejauh mana capaian tujuan yang diperoleh (tingkat self-directed learning) dan sejauh mana fungsi dukungan yang diberikan (tingkat partisipasi dukungan). Tujuan penelitian: Untuk mengkaji tingkat self-directed learning (SDL) mahasiswa dan tingkat partisipasi dukungan institusi terhadap SDL, serta menguji signifikansi hubungan antara dua aspek tersebut pada Politeknik Palu Sulawesi Tengah. Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross sectional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner SDL dan kuesioner tingkat partisipasi dukungan pada 120 mahasiswa berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi (data primer), serta kusioner tingkat partisipasi dukungan pada 43 dosen dan pejabat (data sekunder) Politeknik Palu Sulawesi Tengah. Hasil Penelitian: Mahasiswa pada tingkat SDL memperoleh nilai rata-rata 66,82, sedangkan tingkat partisipasi dukungan meperoleh nilai rata-rata 55,37. Pada dosen dan pejabat tingkat partisipasi dukungan memperoleh rata-rata 59,36. Signifikansi hubungan antara tingkat SDL dan tingkat partisipasi dukungan pada mahasiswa memperoleh nilai Pearson Moment 0,210. Perbandingan antara pihak institusi (dosen dan pejabat) dan mahasiswa berkaitan dengan tingkat partisipasi dukungan ditemukan kecenderungan ketidakpuasan mahasiswa terhadap dukungan, dan aspek fasilitas perpustakaan yang belum memiliki fungsi optimal, serta konstruksi pembelajaran yang kurang memberikan otonomi kepada mahasiswa. Simpulan: Tingkat SDL Mahasiswa dan tingkat partisipasi dukungan Politeknik Palu Sulawesi Tengah berada pada kategori sedang serta terdapatnya hubungan positif pada tingkat signifikansi rendah antara SDL dan partisipasi dukungan institusi. One of the colleges that support the development of this role is the Polytechnic Palu, Central Sulawesi, which has been providing a range of support for the creation of student self-directed learning. However, in order to evaluate the actions and development institutions do not yet have data describing the extent to which performance goals are obtained (the level of self-directed learning) and the extent to which a given function support (support participation rate). The purpose of research to assess the level of self-directed learning (SDL) and the level of student participation institutional support for SDL, as well as testing the significance of the relationship between these two aspects of the Polytechnic Palu, Central Sulawesi. The method in this study using cross sectional study with a quantitative approach. Data processing was performed by descriptive and inferential statistics.
