STUDI PELEPASAN KURKUMIN DARI FILM KITOSAN-PEKTINTRIOKTIL METIL AMONIUM KLORIDA

2015 | Tesis | S2 Ilmu KimiaTelah dilakukan penelitian pelepasan kurkumin dari film kitosan-pektin dengan penambahan trioktil metil amonium klorida (TOMA Cl) sebagai emulsifier. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan kondisi optimal pelepasan kurkumin dengan berbagai variasi. Variasi yang digunakan adalah konsentrasi kurkumin, konsentrasi TOMA Cl, konsentrasi buffer fosfat : etanol dan pH pelarut. Pembuatan film dilakukan dengan cara melarutkan pektin di dalam akuades, kemudian ditambahkan kitosan dan asam asetat 0,4 M, dan setelah larut dilakukan penambahan kurkumin dan TOMA Cl. Karakterisasi film dilakukan dengan spektrofotometer inframerah. Pelepasan kurkumin dilakukan dengan perendaman film dalam larutan buffer fosfat : etanol selama 6 jam. Konsentrasi kurkumin yang dilepaskan diukur menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Kinetika pelepasan kurkumin dikaji dengan model orde nol, orde satu, Higuchi dan Korsmeyer-Peppas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model kinetika yang cocok untuk penelitian ini adalah Korsmeyer-Peppas. Pelepasan kurkumin optimal yang memuat 4 mg kurkumin dan 20 mg TOMA Cl. Pelarut yang optimal adalah buffer fosfat : etanol 80:20 dengan pH 4. Kata kunci: kitosan, pektin, trioktil metil amonium klorida, kurkumin
Curcumin release from chitosan-pectin film using trioctyl methyl ammonium chloride (TOMA Cl) as emulsifier had been studied. The aim of this study was to determine the optimum condition of curcumin release using some variations, such as curcumin concentrations, trioctyl methyl ammonium chloride concentrations, phosphate buffer : ethanol concentrations and pH of solvent. The film was prepared by mixing pectin in aquades, then adding chitosan and acetic acid 0.4 M, and then adding trioctyl methyl ammonium chloride and curcumin until it was mixed completely. The products were characterized by spectrofotometer infrared. Curcumin release had been done by immersing film in a phosphate buffer : ethanol solution for 6 hours. The concentration of curcumin released was measured by spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Curcumin release kinetics were analyzed by zero order model, first order model, Higuchi model and Korsmeyer-Peppas model. The results showed that the most suitable kinetics model of this experiment was Korsmeyer-Peppas. The optimum condition of curcumin released which had 4 mg curcumin and 20 mg trioctyl methyl ammonium chloride. The optimum solvent was phosphate buffer : ethanol 80:20 and pH 4.
