Correlation Between Decreased Consciousness With Cognitive Impairment in Stroke Patient in RSUP DR. SARDJITO Yogyakarta Indonesia

There are many previous researches study about the risk factors, prognosis, and other variable that affect the stroke. The mental status of the stoke patients is one of the concern by doctor. In this research, the stroke patients who have history of decreased consciousness or without, will be assessed the cognitive function outcome by using Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). In other way, it can be the relationship between decreased consciousness and prognosis of the stroke.
This research employs a cohort retrospective study design, 67 subjects are involved. The history of decreased consciousness will be recorded for every subject. Cognitive function is measured on the day of discharge from hospital by using MMSE. By the time examine the patients, other variables like gender, type of stroke, history of hypertension, history of hypercholesteremia, history of diabetes mellitus, and smoking habit are being recorded as well. Using chi-square and Fisher's exact test, variables are being tested by dependent variables.
