Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) adalah sebuah daerah otonomi setingkat propinsi di Indonesia yang terkenal akan tempat pariwisata dan juga latar belakang sejarahnya. Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta menjadi salah satu provinsi di indonesia yang sering dijadikan sebagai destinasi wisata para turis baik dari dalam negeri maupun dari mancanegara. Ada banyak tujuan wisata yang bisa dikunjungi di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, mulai dari wisata alam, kuliner, budaya hingga sejarah yang kesemuanya tersebar di lima kabupaten dan kota yang berada di provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Aplikasi Wisata Jogja menyediakan informasi tentang tempat - tempat yang berada di Yogyakarta dan sekitarnya dengan fitur - fitur yang dapat membantu user mendapatkan informasi tentang tempat wisata tersebut. Selain menjadi media informasi, aplikasi ini juga dapat menjadi alternatif yang berfungsi sebagai pemandu wisata digital bagi para wisatawan yang ingin menikmati salah satu tempat wisata yang berada di Yogyakarta dan sekitarnya. Penggunaan aplikasi wisata jogja ini tidak terlalu membutuhkan internet hanya pada fitur lokasi yang membutuhkan internet dan sinyal GPS.
