Survei topografi (topographic surveying) yaitu pemetaan permukaan bumi fisik dan kenampakan hasil budaya manusia (pemetaan situasi). Oleh karena itu dilakukan kegiatan PKL untuk membuat peta situasi sesuai dengan daerah yang akan dipetakan. PKL dimaksudkan agar mahasiswa mampu meningkatkan kemampuan, ketrampilan, serta modal utama untuk terjun ke dunia kerja dengan menyajikan peta situasi skala 1:500. Proses pembuatan peta situasi skala 1:500 dilakukan dengan diawali pembuatan kerangka kontrol horisontal yang sesuai dengan sketsa gambar metode poligon tertutup dan kerangka kontrol vertikal untuk mengetahui ketinggian obyek yang diukur dengan metode sipat datar. Data yang diperoleh yaitu data planimetris (X,Y), data ketinggian (Z), dan data attribute.Menghasilkan peta planimetris untuk uji peta mencangkup uji planimetris dan uji ketinggian. Hasil akhir dari pekerjaan PKL dan pekerjaan studio yaitu peta situasi skala 1:500 dengan ukuran gambar A1 yang disajikan 4 lembar peta sesuai proyeksi Universial Transverse Mercator (UTM) zone 49s dan datum WGS 84. Peta berisi kenampakaan detil-detil obyek secara planimetris dan ketinggian dalam bentuk garis kontur.

Therefore, activities PKL to create a map of the situation in accordance with the area to be mapped. PKL is so that students are able to improve the ability, skills, as well as the main capital to plunge into the world of work by presenting a situsation map scale of 1: 500. The process of making the situation map scale of 1: 500 is done by starting the manufacture of horizontal control framework in accordance with sketch enclosed polygon method and vertical control framework to determine the height of the object to be measured by the method of carpenter's level. The data obtained is data planimetric (X, Y), elevation data (Z), and data attribute. For Planimetric maps result to test planimetric map covers the test and the test altitude. Finish of the work of street vendors and studio work that situation map scale of 1: 500 with an image size A1 presented four pieces of the map as projected Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) zone 49s and datum WGS'84. Map contains show details of the object in the form of planimetric and elevation contour lines.
