PEMANFAATAN BIOMASSA DAUN MIMBA (Azadirachta indica) SEBAGAI ADSORBEN KROM(VI)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari penggunaan biomassa daun mimba sebagai adsorben krom(VI) dan menentukan kapasitas adsorpsi biomassa daun mimba. Jenis isoterm adsorpsi ditentukan menurut persamaan Langmuir dan Freundlich. Besarnya penyerapan krom(VI) dari larutan diukur menggunakan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (AAS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimum adsorpsi krom(VI) terjadi pada berat adsorben 1,5 g pada waktu kontak 60 menit. Data isoterm adsorpsi krom(VI) oleh biomassa daun mimba mengikuti isoterm model Langmuir dan termasuk ke dalam adsorpsi kimia. Kapasitas adsorpsi krom(VI) dari larutan dikromat adalah 11,76 mg/g dengan energi adsorpsi 32,65 kJ/mol serta kapasitas adsorpsi krom(VI) dari larutan kromat adalah 3,58 mg/g dengan energi adsorpsi 27,62 kJ/mol.
Neem leave (Azadirachta indica) biomass as adsorbent for chromium(VI) from dichromate and chromate has been studied. The purposes of this study are using of neem leave biomass as adsorbent for chromium(VI) and determining the adsorption capacity of neem leave biomass. The adsorption isotherm was studied according to Langmuir and Freundlich model. The adsorption of chromium(VI) from dichromate and chromate aqueous was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). The studied showed that the optimum conditions of adsorption of chromium(VI) from dichromate and chromate aqueous are 1.5 g of adsorbent for contact time 60 minutes. Adsorption isotherm data obtained using neem leave biomass were fitted to the Langmuir model, revealing that the experimental data followed most closely to chemical adsorption with the chromium(VI) from dichromate aqueous adsorptions capacity was 11.76 mg/g with 32.65 kJ/mol of adsorption energy. The adsorptions capacity of chromium(VI) from chromate was 3.58 mg/g and the adsorption energy was 27.62 kJ/mol.
