Arena Permainan Tradisional dan Modern di Yogyakarta dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Regionalisme

Yogyakarta merupakan kota yang mempunyai populasi remaja dengan jumlah yang sangat besar, tidak hanya dari dalam kota tetapi juga dari luar kota Yogyakarta. Remaja-remaja tersebut memiliki berbagai macam komunitas dari berbagai kalangan. Salah satunya adalah komunitas pecinta game atau permainan. Di kota Yogyakarta ini masih minim fasilitas yang mewadahi komunitas tersebut. Sehingga mereka tidak dapat menyalurkan salah satu hobinya. Terutama kalangan pelajar yang masih labil. Di saat waktu luang dapat melakukan hal-hal negatif seperti tawuran, mabuk-mabukan dan sebagainya. Oleh karena itu arena bermain ini diharapkan dapat menjadi suatu wadah salah satu komunitas mereka untuk saling berbagi dan melakukan berbagai macam hal positif. Sebagai salah satu kota yang kental akan budayanya, Yogyakarta memiliki berbagai macam permainan anak tradisional yang seiring dengan perkembangan zaman sudah semakin ditinggalkan dan tidak dikenali oleh anak-anak. Diharapkan dengan adanya arena bermain ini tidak hanya dapat mewadahi komunitas permainan modern saja namun juga dapat mewadahi budaya permainan tradisional dengan segala upaya yang terkandung didalamnya sehingga dapat melestarikan budaya yang dimiliki. Bangunan arena bermain ini dalam mewadahi kedua fungsi tersebut dikemas sebagai fungsi bangunan pariwisata dengan terdapat beberapa fungsi bangunan komersial juga didalamnya. Dengan begitu bangunan arena bermain ini dapat menjadi suatu aset berharga yang dimiliki oleh kota Yogyakarta yang terkenal dengan kota pariwisatanya

Yogyakarta is a city that has a population of adolescents with very large numbers, not only from within but also from outside the city of Yogyakarta. Teens have a wide variety of communities from various backgrounds. One is the community of games lover. The city of Yogyakarta is still a lack of facilities that can accommodate the community. So they are not able to express about their hobbies. Especially for students who are still unstable. In their spare time, they can make negative things like violence, drunkenness and so on. Therefore, this playground is expected to be a place that their community able to share and do a wide variety of positive things. Despite of that as one of the culture city, Yogyakarta has a wide range of traditional children's games along with the times had been abandoned and was not recognized by children. Hopefully, with this playground will not only be able to accommodate the modern game community, but also embodies the culture of the traditional game with all the efforts contained therein, with result that can preserve cultural assets. This playground building with that has two function is packed as a function of tourism buildings with some commercial buildings are also in it.
