Cintrong Paju-Pat adalah judul novel karya Suparto Brata yang dijadikan obyek dalam skripsi ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan unsur-unsur ceritanya. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah struktur cerita dan keterjalinan unsur-unsur cerita Cintrong Paju-Pat dalam membentuk wujud cerita yang utuh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan menggunakan teknik telaah pustaka. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur novel ini adalah teori struktural, yaitu memandang dan menelaah unsur-unsur pembentuk karya sastra. Unsur-unsur tersebut menurut Robert Stanton meliputi fakta cerita, tema dan sarana sastra. Cintrong Paju-Pat bertemakan kisah cinta segi empat antara dua perempuan dan dua laki-laki yang berbeda status sosial dan lingkungan tempat tinggalnya. Alur dalam novel adalah alur maju. Tokoh utama dalam novel adalah Lirih, Luhur, Abrit dan Trengginas. Latar cerita terdapat di kota Jakarta dan Cipanas. Unsur-unsur dalam fakta cerita yaitu alur, tokoh, dan latar saling berhubungan dan unsur- unsur tersebut memperkuat keberadaan tema.

Cintrong Paju-Pat is the title of novel that being the object of this research. This research aims to describe elements of the story. The problems of this research are how are the structure and how about the combination of elements Cintrong Paju-Pat's story in forming the whole story. Analytical description has been chosen as the method in this research by conducting referential analysis. The theory that being used to analyze the elements of this novel is stuctural theory, that is to observe and research the elements of literary works. Those elements according to theory of Robert Stanton include the facts of the story, themes, and the tools of the story. The theme of Cintrong Paju-Pat is about four sides love between two woman and two man who different the social statue and the place they stay. The plot of the story is progressive. The main characters in this story are Lirih, Luhur, Abrit and Trengginas. The story took a backgrounds at Jakarta and Cipanas. The elements the fact of the story is plot, character, and backgrounds, are related and that elements powerful the existance of a theme.
