Musisi Kamar Sebagai Alternatif Dalam Memanfaatkan Budaya Teknologi di Yogyakarta

Inovasi teknologi telah mengambil ruang yang luas dalam praktek media dan berkesenian dalam arus globalisasi. Kecanggihan teknologi seolah bertujuan untuk menggantikan peran manusia ataupun makhluk hidup dalam relasi yang seharusnya terjadi. Hal ini muncul di berbagai aspek tak terkecuali dalam industri seni. Kemajuan teknologi telah memunculkan fenomena baru di industri musik dunia yaitu musisi kamar atau bedroom musician. Musisi kamar memanfaatkan teknologi sebagai media untuk memproduksi dan mendistribusikan karya. Musisi kamar bekerja secara minimalis di dalam suatu ruangan atau yang biasa disebut kamar dengan mengalihkan fungsi kamar sebenarnya yaitu sebagai ruang privat untuk beristirahat. Selain itu musisi kamar memanfaatkan jejaring sosial yang muncul seperti Soundcloud sebagai media distribusi karya mereka agar dapat sampai ke publik. Berlandaskan latar belakang tersebut peneliti kemudian melihat tindakan - tindakan yang dilakukan musisi kamar sebagai respon atas kemajuan teknologi yang tersedia dalam khususnya hal produksi dan distribusi karya. Selain itu peneliti juga mengamati pola representasi yang dilakukan mereka di ranah publik untuk mengetahui tahapan yang dilakukan musisi tersebut sehingga karyanya diperdengarkan ke publik. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian yang diambil adalah Yogyakarta dengan melibatkan 4 narasumber yang terpilih. Karya yang terdapat dalam akun jejaring sosial serta latar belakang musik menjadi faktor bagi peneliti untuk memilih narasumber. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer yang didapatkan dari pengamatan (observasi), wawancara, dan studio pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa musisi kamar merupakan respon musisi terhadap perkembangan teknologi era digital dengan mempertimbangkan aspek - aspek ekonomis serta efisiensi yaitu dalam hal waktu serta proses produksi. Bentuk karya yang dihasilkan oleh musisi kamar juga menimbulkan reduksi dari relasi - relasi yang seharusnya terjadi antara musisi sebenarnya menjadi relasi yang terjadi antara musisi dengan instrument virtual. Teknologi yang diciptakan manusia kemudian membentuk perilaku manusia itu sendiri. Keseimbangan yang seharusnya muncul dimana teknologi dapat memupuk relasi diri manusia tidak terbentuk oleh teknologi yang tercipta. Hal ini memicu transformasi seni ke industri yang justru memunculkan karya seni yang bersifat praktis. Selain itu pola representasi yang muncul dalam proses menyajikan karya memperlihatkan jika teknologi benar - benar berperan penting dalam perkembangan metode distribusi karya dari musisi kepada penikmat karya tersebut. Hal menarik yang dapat dilihat dari pemanfaatan musisi kamar terhadap budaya teknologi adalah pertama merubah pola pikir produksi yaitu dengan pemanfaatan budaya teknologi sebagai media produksi baru. Kedua, merubah orientasi distribusi dengan mengggunakan media sosial sebagai bentuk media distribusi yang baru.

Advances in technology have given rise to a new phenomenon in the music industry is a musician's musician room or bedroom musicians. Based on the background of the researchers then looked at the actions taken in response to the musicians room available technological advances, especially in terms of production and distribution works. In addition, researchers also observed patterns of representation they have done in the public domain to determine the stage of the musicians who performed so that his work was played to the public. This study was conducted qualitatively with descriptive type. Location of the study is taken Yogyakarta with 4 speakers involving elected. The work contained within social networking accounts as well as the background music to be a factor for researchers to select the speaker. This study uses primary data obtained from observations (observation), interviews, and studio libraries. These results indicate that the bedroom musician is a response to technological developments musician of the digital age by considering economic aspects as well as the efficiency in terms of time and production process. The form of the work produced by the musicians room also cause reduction of relations that should occur between the actual musicians into relations that occur between musicians with virtual instrument. Technology created by humans then shape human behavior itself. The balance should be shown where technology can foster human relationships are not formed by the self-created technology. This triggers the transformation of art into the industry that actually led to artwork that is practical. In addition, the pattern of representation that arise in the process of presenting the work shows if the technology really plays an important role in the development of methods of distribution of the work of musicians to the audience of the work. Interesting things that can be seen from the use of bedroom musician to change the culture of technology is the first production mindset that the cultural use of technology as a new media production. Second, changing the orientation distribution using existing social media as a new form of media distribution.
