Osteoarthritis is the most common arthritis occurs and one of the main causes of pain and disability in the world. Onset of pain resulting in decreased quality of life. The aim of this study was to determine differences in the quality of life of patients with osteoarthritis based on differences in patient characteristics and treatment patterns. This study is an observational study with cross-sectional design. Subjects were patients at the outpatient clinic osteoarthritis Rheumatology PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta period December 2013-April 2014 data were collected by using AIMS2-SF questionnaire (Arthritis Impact Measurement Scale 2 Short Form) and measurement of the degree of pain by VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) as well as a brief interview to determine the characteristics of the patient. Data analysis was performed with the Mann Whitney test and the Kruskal-Wallis to determine the relationship of patient characteristics and treatment patterns with the quality of life of patients with osteoarthritis. The results showed that 70 patients had osteoarthritis scores were pretty good quality of life domains, physical = 3.24; symptoms = 5.83; mood = 4.50 and social = 2.51. Quality of life patients with osteoarthritis who have a significant difference (p <0.005) based on differences in patient characteristics are age (physical domain, symptoms domain, social domain), comorbidities (social domain), a history of trauma (physical domain, symptoms domain, mood domain) , a family history of osteoarthritis (symptoms domains and mood domains), and the intensity of pain (physical domain, symptoms domain, mood domain, and social domain), whereas differences in treatment patterns showed no difference in the quality of life of patients with osteoarthritis (p> 0.005).
