PEMBENTUKAN HABITUS MUSIKAL PADAKOMUNITAS JAZZ JOGJA PENGISI ALBUM KOMPILASI

Komunitas Jazz Jogja terbentuk dari kegelisahan para musisi jazz di Yogyakarta, mereka resah akan citra jazz yang dikatakan elit. Mereka membuat pertunjukan jazz yang bisa dinikmati oleh semua kalangan Yogyakarta. Komunitas ini tidak hanya mengapresiasikan musik jazz pada beberapa pertunjukan, tetapi mendokumentasikan setiap karyanya dalam bentuk CD (album kompilasi). Pada tahun 2009 sampai 2013, Komunitas Jazz Jogja sudah memproduksi lima album kompilasi dengan konsep yang berbeda. Penelitian ini terfokus pada kelima album kompilasi, dengan cara melihat karakteristik musikal, proses produksi, dan peran album kompilasi bagi para pengisinya. Data yang terkumpul akan dianalisissecara musikologi untuk melihat perubahan konsep, dituangkan pada notasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Habitus untuk melihat perubahan sosial yang terjadi dalam produksi album kompilasi. Adapun hasil penelitian yang ditemukan,album kompilasi membentuk habitus musikal bagi para pengisinya. Hal ini terbukti, sebelum mengikuti album kompilasi, para pengisinya tidak memiliki habitus musikal jazz dan kesenian tradisional Indonesia yang kuat. Proses produksi album kompilasi membentuk para pengisinya mampu bermusik jazz tanpa melupakan kesenian tradisinal Indonesia.

Jogja Jazz Community was formedbecause of the concern of jazz musicians in Jogjakarta. They worried that jazz image would turnas an elite music. There fore, they held a jazz show that could be enjoyed by all social classes in Yogyakarta. In addition to doing the show, this community often documented their work in the form of a compilation album (CD). During 2009-2013, five compilation albums had been produced with various concepts. This research focuses on the five compilation albums by observing its musical characteristic, production process, and the role of these albums to its musicians. Collected data ware analizedwith the method of musicology to observe the concept alteration in the form of notation. Habitus theory was used to observe the social change that happened in the making of Jogja Jazz Community compilation album. The result showesthat the compilation album formed a musical habitus to its contributors. This was proven by the contributors’ condition before following the compilation album, when they did not yet have the jazz musical and strong Indonesian traditional habitus. The production process of the compilation album enabled contributors to be able to play jazz music without forgetting Indonesian traditional art.
