PROFESIONALISME WARTAWAN TELEVISI (Studi Kasus Pada Jurnalis di Batu TV Kota Batu Jawa Timur, Bulan Agustus - September 2012)

Batu Televisi adalah salah satu media televisi lokal yang berada di wilayah Kota Batu, Jawa Timur. Kualitas sumber daya manusia di media televisi lokal tidaklah sehebat para pekerja pada media televisi nasional. Masalah sumber daya manusia dalam hal penyiaran menyebabkan kekurangan – kekurangan berkaitan dengan kualitas berita (peliputan dan penyuntingan). Kehadiran televisi lokal sebagai salah satu pilihan bagi masyarakat untuk mendapatkan informasi, hiburan, dan pendidikan tetap mengedepankan kode etik jurnalis televisi. Proses produksi berita merupakan hal yang penting untuk memberikan isi berita yang baik kepada masyarakat. Berita yang baik disajikan oleh wartawan yang paham dan taat pada kode etik jurnalis Jurnalis televisi adalah seorang profesional yang bekerja berdasarkan kaidah atau kode etik jurnalistik sebagai pedoman operasional untuk menjaga kepercayaan publik, menegakkan integritas dan profesionalisme; menjamin kemerdekaan pers dan memenuhi hak publik dalam memperoleh informasi yang benar. Kinerja para jurnalis harus menjunjung kode etik jurnalis televisi, antara lain ‖tidak merekayasa peristiwa, gambar maupun suara untuk dijadikan berita‖(pasal 5 poin c) kemudian pada pasal 10 poin c berbunyi ‖sebisanya membedakan antara kejadian (fact) dan pendapat (opinion). Hal ini sangat bergantung pada kualitas sumber daya manusia jurnalis televisi untuk menghasilkan berita yang berkualitas. Karena itu, setiap jurnalis televisi harus memperhatikan 2 (dua) hal yang paling penting, yaitu keterampilan teknis wartawan dalam peliputan berita dan kepatuhan etis wartawan terhadap Kode Etik Jurnalistik. Pertanyaan penelitiannya adalah bagaimana profesionalisme wartawan pada stasiun televisi lokal Batu Televisi (Batu TV) Kota Batu Jawa Timur pada bulan Agustus – September 2012? Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, digunakan studi kasus sebagai pendekatan penelitian yang kemudian dideskripsikan secara sistematis. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jurnalis di Batu TV tidak menjadi pribadi ―bebas‖ yang memproduksi kebenaran melalui hasil jurnalistik, namun lebih karena tuntutan kapitalisme korporasi. Batu TV mengutamakan Profit Oriented sehingga pemberitaan didominasi oleh berita pesanan (blockingtime). Pada kondisi ini, para jurnalis dihadapkan pada dilema antara sebuah pemberitaan murni sesuai kode etik jurnalis dengan berita pesanan yang dipoles demi tuntutan komersil. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa profesionalisme wartawan televisi tidak saja terletak pada keterampilan teknis dan kepatuhan etis wartawan, tetapi juga hubungan pekerja media dengan pemilik modal (perusahaan). Jadi, faktor keterampilan teknis dan kepatuhan etis jurnalis hanya berperan sebagai prakondisi menuju profesionalisme wartawan televisi, sebab ada tiga komponen penting lainnya yaitu otoritas, pengawasan, dan pelayanan. Profesionalisme adalah sistem hubungan antara otoritas, pengawasan, dan pelayanan yang terlembagakan.

Batu Television is one of the local television media that are in the area of Batu, East Java. The quality of human resources in the local television media is not as good as the workers on the national television media. Human resource issues in terms of broadcasting led to a shortage - a shortage of news related to the quality (coverage and editing). The presence of local television as an option for people to get information, entertainment, and education while promoting ethical codes television journalist. News production process is essential to provide news content to the public good. Good News presented by journalists who understand and adhere to the code of ethics of journalists Television journalist is a professional who works by rule or code of journalistic ethics as operational guidelines to maintain public confidence, to uphold the integrity and professionalism; guarantee freedom of the press and meet the public's right to obtain the correct information. Performance journalists should uphold the code of ethics of journalists television, including \\"do not manipulate events, images and sounds to be used as news\\" (article 5 points c) and then on article 10 points c reads \\"as best he could distinguish between events (fact) and opinion (opinion) . It is very dependent on the quality of human resources to produce a television journalist quality news. Therefore, every television journalists should pay attention to two (2) most important things, namely the technical skills of journalists in news coverage and adherence to the ethical journalist Journalistic Code of Ethics. Research question is how the professionalism of journalists at a local television station Batu Television ( Batu TV) in Batu Regency East Java in August-September 2012? To answer these questions, is used as a case study research approach is then described systematically. The results obtained in the study indicate that TV journalist in the Batu TV is not a private \\"free\\" results-producing truth through journalism, but rather due to the demands of corporate capitalism. Batu TV news priority Profit Oriented was dominated by news that orders (blockingtime). In this condition, the journalist faced with the dilemma between a pure news journalist code of ethics in accordance with the order of news polished for the sake of commercial demands. This shows that not only television journalist professionalism lies in the technical skills and ethical compliance journalists, media workers but also the relationship with the owners of capital (the company). So, technical skills and adherence factors ethical journalists only serves as a precondition to the professionalism of television reporters, because there are three other important components of the authority, supervision, and services. Professionalism is a system of relations between the authority, supervision, and services are institutionalized.
