Industri pengolahan makanan dan minuman sangat berkembang pesat. Salah satu tahap dalam proses pengolahan hasil perkebunan adalah pemilahan dan untuk meningkatkan jumlah produksi maka diperlukan suatu alat yang dapat bekerja tanpa henti , maka dibuatlah otomasi pada pengendalian produksi bagian pemilahan buah. Deteksi buah pada suatu citra dua dimensi merupakan suatu proses yang cukup kompleks untuk dilakukan komputer, oleh karena itu diperluakan suatu pendekatan computer vision dan pengolahan citra sebagai pengganti mata sehingga objek yang diinginkan dapat dikenali oleh komputer. Prototype aplikasi deteksi buah berbasis pengolahan citra dengan segmentasi bentuk dan warna citra digunakan hanya untuk mendeteksi apel, jeruk, dan pisang yang bisa di bedakan berdasarkan bentuk dan warna, oleh sebab itu sistem aplikasi ini menggunakan metode segmentasi warna dengan deteksi warna RGB dan segmentasi bentuk dengan citra biner untuk mengetahui jenis buah.

Food and beverage industry is growing rapidly. One of the stages in the process of processing results of the plantation is sorting fruit , and to increasethe number of production is needed a tool that can work without ceasing, so created automation production tool in sorting part. Detection on two dimensional image is a enough complex procces to do the computer. Therefore is required an approach to computer vision and image processing as alternate eyes so the object is wanted can be recognized by computer. Prototype application based fruit detection image proccesing with shape and color image segmentation is used only to detect the apples, oranges, and banana. These fruits are distinguished base on shape and color, therefore this application system using color image segmentation method with RGBcolor detection and shape sagmentation of binary image.
