2014 | Skripsi | KONSERV.
Warno Lake and Pengilon Lake Nature Parks have some important benefits in the field of tourism and agriculture. Unfortunately, an excessive utilization in that conservation areas can cause changes in water quality as well as negative impacts on the ecological function of Warno Lake and Pengilon Lake Nature Park aquatic ecosystems. Therefore, it is essential to do the first study of physical, chemical, and biological quality in the water area of Warno Lake and Pengilon Lake Nature Parks. This study aimed to determine (1) physical, chemical and biological quality in the water area, and (2) to know pollution level of water area. Sample points were determined using the Uniform Systematic Distribution method, thus obtained ten (10) points in which the distance between each point was 100mx100m. The parameters which were used to determine the quality of water area were: temperature, TDS, pH, salinity, DO, BOD, COD, phosphates, ammonia, and Coliform total. Data analysis was then performed using the method of Pollution Index (IP) in accordance with the gudelines of annex II to the decree of the Minister of Environment number 115 of 2003 on Guidelines for Determination of Water Quality Status. Warno Lake had a low pH or acid which only reached 2.33 and a high COD which reached 51.86mg/L and it exceeded the water quality, while Telogo Pengilon’s COD value was 59.62 mg/L and its Coliform total was 56.00 individu/100ml high or exceeded the water quality. However, the value of TDS, temperature, DO, phosphate, and ammonia content in the water of Telogo Pengilon and TelogoWarno were classified as under normal circumtances and did not exceed the standards. Some of the parameters that exceeded the water quality standards resulting the water area of Warno Lake and Pengilon Lake on 27 April 2014 have a light level of water pollution level with the values of its Pollution Index (IP) reached 2, 69 and 2.10.
