THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ENGLISH TEACHING METHODS IN SD ISLAM AL AZHAR 16 CILACAP

Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi pengajaran Bahasa Inggris. Hal ini dilakukan dengan mengamati SD Islam Al Azhar 16 Cilacap. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada tahap proses pengajaran yang diterapkan SD Al Azhar tersebut dan beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam strategi pengajaran seperti direct method, the audio-lingual method, total physical response, dll. Tujuan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui metode pengajaran dan keefektifan tersebut yang diterapkan. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dan studi kepustakaan. Untuk observasi, penulis mewawancarai Kepala Sekolah untuk mengetahui profil singkat dari SD Al Azhar 16 Cilacap, dan guru Bahasa Inggris untuk menanyakan seputar belajar mengajar di sekolah ini. Selain itu, penulis juga masuk ke dalam kelas untuk mengambil gambar / video yang bertujuan mengambil data pada kegiatan belajar mengajar. Selain itu, hasil tes raport atau nilai ulangan digunakan sebagai bahan dasar utama untuk mencari keefektifannya. Yang terakhir, beberapa buku, brosur SD Al Azhar 16, dan artikel internet yang berhubungan dengan objek penelitian ini digunakan untuk mensupport data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode -metode pengajaran Bahasa Inggris yang diterapkan di SD Al Azhar 16 Cilacap adalah efektif, yang mana cara pengajaran sekolah ini sudah sesuai dengan kajian teori dan nilai murid yang selalu meningkat.

This final project aims to find out a strategy of teaching English. It situates SD Islam Al -Azhar 16 Cilacap as the object of the study. This research focus on the process of teaching which SD Al- Azhar has applied and some factors that influence the teaching strategies such as direct method, the audio-lingual method, total physical response, etc. However, the school still want to know which the more effectively one. Therefore, the aims are to find out the teaching methods and effectiveness of the methods that they used Methods of data collection are by observation and library research. In observation, the writer interviews the Principal to find out a brief profile of SD Al-Azhar 16 Cilacap, and come into the classroom to take pictures / videos that aim to get the data on learning and teaching activities. Besides, the result of raports or exam as the main materials. The last, some books, brochures SD Al- Azhar 16 Cilacap, and internet articles related to this research used to support data. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the English teaching methods in SD Al- Azhar 16 Cilacap is effective. Which the teaching methods of this school appror iate with theory and the students get increasing score.
