Beton merupakan salah satu bahan konstruksi yang telah umum digunakan untuk bangunan gedung, jembatan, jalan, dan sebagainya. Beton didapat dengan cara mencampur antara semen, agregat kasar (kerikil), agregat halus (pasir), dan air. Dengan berkembangnya jaman, banyak juga alternatif yang dipilih para produsen beton untuk membuat beton dengan kuat tekan yang tinggi. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan adalah menambahkan bahan dasar ke campuran betonnya. Bahan dasar tersebut salah satunya adalah fly ash. Fly ash merupakan abu terbang hasil limbah dari PLTU yang dapat berfungsi sebagai filler dan dapat mensubstitusi berat semen. Fly ash dapat meningkatkan workability beton dengan komposisi kadar tertentu. Dengan mensubstitusi berat semen, maka fly ash juga dapat sedikit menghemat harga beton di pasaran mengingat harga semen yang cukup tinggi dan harga dasar fly ash yang rendah di pasaran.

Concrete is one of the construction material generally used to make building, road (rigid), bridge, and so on. Concrete is the mixture between cement portland, split, sand, and water. In the modern era, the concrete producer make concrete with the high pressure. One of the ways to make it is increase the base material to mixture the concrete. One of the base materials is fly ash. The fly ash is from the waste of PLTU and the function as the filler can subtitute the weight of the cement. Fly ash can make more workability of the concrete with the certain composision. With the subtitution of the weight of cement, so the fly ash can economize the price of the concrete. Cause the price of cement is always going up and the fly ash is cheap in marketing.
