Jembatan sebagai sarana transportasi mempunyai peranan penting bagi kelancaran pergerakan lalu lintas. Jembatan adalah suatu konstruksi yang gunanya untuk meneruskan jalan yang terputus karena rintangan seperti sungai, rawa, jalan lain, rel kereta api. Alasan dibangunnya jalan tol Surabaya-Mojokerto ini karena seringnya terjadi kemacetan karena jumlah kendaraan melebihi kapasitas jalan, maka diperlukan pembangunan jalan tol sehingga dapat memperlancar arus lalu lintas dan perekonomian masyarakat. Jembatan underpass kereta api bebekan ini terdiri dari struktur atas pier head, girder, plat lantai sedangkan struktur bawah yaitu kolom, footing, pondasi bore pile yang kapasitas dukung tiang dihitung dengan metode SPT. Hasil perhitungan daya dukung pondasi berdasarkan data SPT ini memiliki perbedaan hasil daya dukung aksialnya tetapi dipakai daya dukung aksial yang terkecil.
