Sistem pengendalian mutu yang baik harus dapat memberikan semua informasi yang diperlukan dengan diagram atau tabel yang dapat memprediksi atau memperkirakan suatu produk akhir. Pemeriksaan bahan baku menjadi dasar diterima atau ditolaknya bahan yang ditawarkan oleh penjual dan merupakan informasi yang baik untuk merencanakan bagaimana mencampur atau menyortir bahan. Informasi yang diperoleh selama tahapan proses menunjukkan apakah modifikasi diperlukan dalam proses. Untuk itu diperlukan studi analisis mutu untuk mengetahui mutu produksi dari produk teh mahkota dewa tersebut baik atau tidak. Dengan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran kelayakan produksi khususnya pada produk akhir teh mahkota dewa produksi PT. SALAMA NUSANTARA. Hal ini akan membantu dalam mengevaluasi mutu atau kualitas produksi dari produk akhir teh mahkota dewa. Dalam laporan proyek akhir ini yang menjadi pokok masalah adalah kualitas produk akhir the mahkota dewa pada tahun 2010 . Kualitas produk akhir dilihat dari ketidakakuratan penimbangan produk kemasan teh mahkota dewa. Ketidakakuratan penimbangan didapat dari pengujian dengan menggunakan Peta Kontrol X dan R. Hasil pengujian akan dibandingkan dengan standar hasil penimbangan perusahaan. Produk yang mengalami penyimpangan akan dilakukan identifikasi penyebabnya dan dilakukan perbaikan yang mungkin dilakukan perusahaan untuk meningkatkan mutu produk. Dari hasil pemetaan dengan Kontrol X dan R. Berat X untuk teh hijau tidak normal karena ada tiga plot data yang out of control. Penyebab dari ketidaknormalan proses penimbangan disebabkan oleh penyebab assignable sehingga perlu dilakukan tindakan koreksi dan perbaikan.
