Penelitian ini membahas fenomena meme konspirasi Keanu yang terdapat dalam dunia maya. Seiring dengan tumbuhnya fenomena meme jaringan maya, dibutuhkan studi lebih lanjut mengenai meme termasuk bentuk tiap meme. Salah satu ciri khas meme jaringan maya adalah adanya aturan tidak tertulis mengenai bagaimana seharusnya sebuah meme dibuat. Penelitian ini mengangkat struktur yang terdapat dalam meme konspirasi Keanu yang berkontribusi pada aturan tidak tertulis tersebut bagi para pembuat meme berikutnya. Aturan tidak tertulis ini adalah ciri khas dari sebuah meme jaringan maya karena merupakan sifat dasar sebuah meme untuk dapat dibuat ulang dan disebarkan oleh siapa saja. Aturan ini membantu untuk menjaga ide yang terdapat dalam meme dan penting bagi kelangsungan dan eksistensi meme tersebut. Salah satu kunci penting dalam menentukan aturan tersebut adalah menganalisis unsur eksternal dari tiap meme dan memetakan polanya. Hubungan yang ada antar unsur eksternal dan struktur akan menunjukkan aturan bagi meme tersebut. Hubungan ini secara tidak langsung membantu para pembuat meme untuk membuat meme sesuai aturan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode simak dan catat dari meme yang diambil dari sebuah situs meme Prancis populer, www.memecenter.fr.

This study is about the phenomenon of the Conspiracy Keanu internet meme. As internet meme is a growing phenomenon, there needs to be further studies about them, including each type of meme. One of the characteristics of an internet meme is that there are unwritten rules about how a meme should be made, and this study points out the structures of the Conspiracy Keanu memes which contributes to its unwritten rule to its successive anonymous creators. The unwritten rules is a unique characteristic in the memes since it is a meme’s nature to be replicated by anyone and passed among others while its creators might remain anonymous. They help preserving the idea in the meme and essential to the meme’s existence. One of the important keys in determining the rules is by examining the external elements present in each memes and deduct the patterns. The relation which connects between the external elements and the structures would determine the rules of the meme. This subconsciously helps new creators in making new memes without deviating from the rules. The method used in this study is the observation method from the memes taken from www.memecenter.fr, a popular French meme center website.
