Dalam percakapan jual beli beras di toko beras Kutoarjo, Purworejo terdapat kode-kode yang digunakan oleh penjual, pembeli, buruh, dan pegawai toko. Kode-kode itu adalah kode bahasa Indonesia dan kode bahasa Jawa. Baik kode bahasa Indonesia maupun bahasa Jawa mengalami alih kode dan campur kode. Alih kode adalah peristiwa peralihan dari satu kode ke kode yang lain dalam suatu peristiwa tutur. Campur kode adalah penggunaan dua bahasa atau lebih dalam satu percakapan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitan deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiolinguistik untuk mengungkap terjadinya alih kode dan campur kode. Data penelitian berupa unit-unit bahasa yang memiliki wujud kata, frase, ataupun kalimat yang digunakan dalam percakapan jual beli beras di toko beras Kutoarjo, Purworejo. Selanjutnya dalam penelitian ini, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode observasi, yaitu teknik simak libat cakap, teknik simak bebas libat cakap, dan teknik rekam. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah paparan wujud alih kode dan campur kode, faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan pemilihan alih kode dan campur kode, dan fungsi alih kode dalam percakapan jual beli beras di toko beras Kutoarjo, Purworejo.

In the conversation of rice trading at rice shop Kutoarjo, Purworejo there are codes used by the seller, the buyer, labors, and employers. Those codes are Indonesian and Javanese code. Both Indonesian code and Javanese code are equally experiencing code switching and code mixing. Code switching is the transition from one code to another code in a speech event. Code mixing is the use of two or more languages in one conversation. This research uses descriptive method by using sociolinguistics approach to reveal occurrence code switching and code mixing. This research data is in the form of language units that are words, phrases, or sentences in the conversation of rice trading at rice shop Kutoarjo, Purworejo. In this research, furthermore, data collection is done by using observation method, there are proficient techniques involved see, techniques involved see free capable, and recording techniques. The result of this research are exposure the form of code switching and code mixing, the factors that led to the selection of code switching and code mixing, and the code switching functions in rice trading conversation at the rice shop Kutoarjo, Purworejo.
