PRARANCANGAN PABRIK PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE DARIO-XYLENE DAN UDARA KAPASITAS 80.000 TON/TAHUN

Phthalic anhydride adalah bahan utama dalam pembuatan plasticizer yang digunakan untuk memproduksi lapisan fleksibel seperti wallpaper dan upholstery fabric dari polimer yang cukup getas. Selain itu, penggunaan phthalic anhydride lainnya adalah untuk produksi unsaturated polyester resins, alkyd resins dan lainlain. Pembuatan phthalic anhydride secara garis besar terdiri atas 5 tahap. Tahap pertama adalah pengolahan bahan baku berupa o-xylene dan udara. Bahan baku akan dipanaskan sampai suhu 350oC dan tekanan 6 atm sebelum masuk ke dalam reaktor. Tahap kedua adalah tahap oksidasi yang berlangsung dalam reaktor fixed bed multitube dengan bantuan katalis. Tahap ketiga adalah tahap kondensasi gas keluaran reaktor di dalam switch condenser. Tahap keempat adalah pemurnian hasil dengan aging tank dan menara distilasi yang bertujuan untuk memisahkan phthalic anhydride dari komponen lain. Tahap terakhir adalah tahap pemadatan produk menggunakan flaker. Selanjutnya produk flake phthalic anhydride akan disimpan dalam bin sebelum di packing. Pabrik ini dirancang dengan kapasitas 80.000 ton/tahun atau 10080 kg/jam. Produk phthalic anhydride dengan kemurnian 99,8% dihasilkan diproduksi dari 9753,84 kg/jam o-xylene. Kebutuhan utilitas meliputi air sebanyak 36.864,34 kg/jam; dan listrik dengan daya 306,93 kW. Pabrik ini direncanakan untuk didirikan di Kota Cilegon, Propinsi Banten dengan luas tanah 3 Ha. Total karyawan yang dibutuhkan ialah sebanyak 193 orang. Dari perhitungan hasil evaluasi ekonomi diperoleh parameter sebagai berikut: Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) sebesar Rp 163.935.200.000,00 dan US$ 49.300.000,00; Working Capital (WC) sebesar Rp 80.687.400.000,00 dan US$ 5.600.000,00; Keuntungan sebelum pajak Rp293.499.400.000,00; Keuntungan setelah pajak Rp146.749.700.000,00; Return On Investment before taxes = 44,72%; Return On Investment after taxes = 22,38%; Pay Out Time before taxes = 2,12 tahun; Pay Out Time after taxes = 4,02 tahun; Break Even Point (BEP) = 41,46%; Shut Down Point (SDP) = 17,02%, Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFRR) = 36,13 % . Phthalic anhydride is the intermediate product that mainly used as plasticizer. Plasticiziers used as flexible layer production such as, wallpaper and upholstery fabric from brittle polymer. Beside that, phthalic anhydride also used as unsaturated polyester resins, alkyd resins production and many more.. Phthalic anhydride production consists of 5 steps. First step is raw material (o-xylene and air) preparation. O-xylene and air would be heated and pressured up to 350oC and 6 atm before enter the reactor. Second step is oxidation process inside the fixed bed multitube reactor with catalyst loading. Third step is the reactor’s product condensation that occur inside switch condenser. Fourth step is product purification with aging tank and distillation coloumn. Last step is the product solidification process using flaker. Phthalic anhydride flake would be saved in bin before packaging process. The plant is designed with a capacity of 80,000 tons/year or 10080 kg/hour. The phthalic anhydride product with 99,8% purity is produced from 9753,84 kg/hout o-xylene. Utilities includes water as much as 36.864,34 kg/hour and 306,93 kW electrical power. The plant is planned to be established in Cilegon, Banten Province, with an area of 3 hectares. Total employees are needed as much as 193 people. The calculation results the economic evaluation parameters obtained as follows: Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) of Rp163,935,200,000.00 and U.S.$49,300,000.00; Working Capital (WC) of Rp80,687,400,000.00 and U.S. $ 5,600,000.00; Profit before tax of Rp293,499,400,000.00; Profit after tax of Rp146,749,700,000.00; Return on Investment (ROI) before taxes = 44.72%, Return on Investment after taxes = 22.38%; Pay Out Time (POT) before taxes = 2.12 years; Pay Out Time after taxes = 4.02 years; Break Even Point (BEP) = 41.46%; Shut Down Point (SDP) = 17.02%, Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFRR) = 36.13%.
