PENGARUH NAUNGAN DAN DOSIS PUPUK NPK TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN SEMAI Shorea selanica

Shorea selanica merupakan salah satu jenis endemik hutan hujan tropis dari family Dipterocarpaceae di Indonesia. Rehabilitasi hutan hujan tropis dengan menggunakan jenis – jenis endemik perlu dilakukan untuk menekan kerusakan hutan yang tiap tahunnya terus bertambah. Untuk upaya tersebut khususnya di hutan alam diperlukan bibit siap tanam yang berkualitas, yaitu dengan tinggi dan diameter optimal terutama bibit dari jenis S. selanica yang akan di tanam di hutan alam, sehingga perlu adanya upaya manipulasi lingkungan untuk memacu pertumbuhannya. Intensitas cahaya merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan bibit. Untuk itu diperlukan penelitian dengan pemberian naungan dan pemupukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh naungan, dosis pupuk, serta interaksi dari kedua faktor tersebut terhadap pertumbuhan semai S. selanica. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Split Plot Completely Randomized Design (Split Plot-CRD). Perlakuan yang diujikan meliputi petak utama (main plot) dengan faktor naungan yang terdiri dari dua taraf (terbuka dan ternaung) dengan anak petak (sub plot) dengan faktor dosis pupuk NPK yang terdiri 5 taraf (0; 0,1; 1; 1,5 g/semai). Parameter yang diamati yaitu pertambahan tinggi, pertambahan diameter, dan persentase hidup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa naungan responnya berbeda nyata pada taraf uji 5% terhadap variabel pertambahan tinggi, diameter, dan persentase hidup. Dosis pupuk NPK responnya tidak berbeda nyata diantara perlakuan terhadap variabel pertambahan tinggi, diameter, dan persentase hidup, akan tetapi dosis pupuk NPK memberikan pertumbuhan tinggi dan diameter yang beragam dan perlakuan terbaik adalah pemberian pupuk dosis 1 g/semai. Interaksi antar perlakuan juga menunjukkan respon tidak berbeda nyata diantara perlakuan. Akan tetapi perlakuan yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap

Shorea selanica is one of the endemic species of tropical rain forest from Dipterocarpaceae family in Indonesia. The rehabilitation of the tropical rainforest process by utilizing endemic types needs to perform to reduce forest destruction which keeps increasing each year. For the efforts, particularly in natural forest, ready for planting seedlings with high quality are required, i.e. with the optimum height and diameter, particularly seedlings from S. selanica types that will be planted in the forest, thus it is necessary to conduct environmental manipulation to stimulate their growth. Light intensity is one of the factors affecting the growth of seedlings. For that reason, a research on the provision of shade and fertilization is required. This research is aimed to determine the effect of the provision of shade, fertilizer and interaction of the two factors on the growth of S. selanica seedlings The research design used was Split Plot Completely Randomized Design (Split Plot- CRD). The treatment tested included the main plot, the shade factor consisting of two levels (open and shaded), the subplot, and the factor of NPK fertilizer consisting of 5 levels (0; 0.1; 1; 1.5 g/ seedlings). The parameters observed were the increase in height, the increase in diameter, and the percentage of live. The result of the research shows that the respond of the shade is significantly different at 5% level test on the variables of height, diameter, and percentage of live. The response of the dosage of NPK fertilizer is not significantly different between the treatment on the variables of the increase in height, diameter, and percentage of life. However the dosage of NPK fertilizers provides the height and diameter growth which is varied and the best treatment is the application of fertilizer with a dose of 1 g/ seedling. The interaction between treatments also shows no significant different response between treatments. However, the best treatment is by giving the best effect on the variable growth in the open space with the provision of 1 gram of fertilizer.
