This undergraduate thesis is a structural analysis of a short story entitled Sonagi (소나기). This short story is a work of Hwang Sun Won, published in 1953. Sonagi short story were republished in 1994. Sonagi is rain came and stopped suddenly in a short time. Sonagi tells the story of first love of two children. As the rain \\" Sonagi \\", the love can come and go suddenly. Like the Rain \\" Sonagi \\", love can also come in a short time. Sonagi short story is naive human experience to fall in love. Analysis of the short story Sonagi aims to describe the structural elements in the short story, and its relationship with the other aspects of the story. Sonagi short story has an unique story experience. Analysis of the structural elements would constitute how to understand the experiences in the story. The theory used in this undergraduate thesis is a structural theory from Robert Stanton. Robert Stanton divide structural element into the facts of the story, themes and literary devices. Thus, the theme, and the fact the story is the most fundamental element , to understand the story. The entire structural element in the story Sonagi analyzed with descriptive qualitative research method. Through structural studies, the main element in the story Sonagi can be known by analyzing the fact, literary device, and the theme of the story. Sonagi has a specific short story constructed by elements of the characters, titles, and background. Elements of the characters, titles, and background uniquely, build Sonagi symbolism. Three elements, interconnected to form roundness meaning of the story. Roundness meaning of story as the same as the characters of rain \\"Sonagi” .
