Anak adalah kelompok yang rentan menjadi korban kekerasan. Oleh sebab itu, seorang anak berhak untuk mendapatkan perlindungan. Perlindungan terhadap anak menjadi tanggung jawab dan kewajiban dari negara. Apalagi jika hal tersebut terjadi terhadap anak yang bermasalah dengan hukum, mereka tidak hanya mendapatkan hak untuk dilindungi tapi mereka juga wajib didampingi dan dilindungi di depan hukum dan mendapatkan pendampingan sampai selesai menjalani hukuman artinya tidak hanya berhenti didampingi sampai proses peradilan selesai namun sampai memperoleh keputusan yang berkekuatan hukum tetap. Itulah kenapa harus ada perlindungan dan pemenuhan hak asasi warga binaan anak dalam menjalani proses hukuman yang telah ditetapkan oleh pengadilan. Kegiatan PKL ini juga merupakan sarana dalam menggali ilmu secara aktif untuk terjun ke lapangan dan mempraktikkan teori yang telah diterima selama dalam bangku perkuliahan. Dengan adanya kegiatan PKL ini mahasiswa diharapkan mendapatkan pengalaman kerja dan dapat menerapkan teori atau ilmu yand diperoleh dari perkuliahan untuk menjadi tenaga ahli yang siap pakai, potensial dan profesional. Manfaat dalam pelaksanakan praktik kerja lapangan Dapat mengetahui dan mengerti mengenai tugas pokok dan fugsi, sistem kerja, kinerja para staf/karyawan di lingkungan tempat pelaksanaan PKL (Kemenkumham DIY),Menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan sikap profesionalitas penulis yang diperlukan penulis untuk memasuki dunia kerja yang sesungguhnya, penulis memperoleh wawasan dan pengalaman kerja yang dapat penulis terapkan dalam dunia kerja nantinya, menerapkan teori yang telah diperoleh di kampus ke dalam dunia kerja dalam hal ini yaitu pelaksanaan Praktik Kerja Lapangan. Ada beberapa hak yang diberikan kepada warga binaan anak sebagai wujud dari perlindungan dan pemenuhan hak asasi warga binaan anak di lapas dan rutan di DIY, yaitu: Hak beribadah dan mendapatkan perawatan jasmani dan rohani, hak untuk bermain dan beraktifitas, hak mendapatkan pendidikan dan informasi, hak mendapatkan makanan yang cukup, hak mendapatkan pelayanan kesehatan, hak bertemu dengan keluarga, pembebasan bersyarat dan cuti menjelang bebas.

Children are a vulnerable group who are victims of violence. Therefore, a child is entitled to protection. The protection of children is the responsibility and obligation of the state. Especially if it happens to children in trouble with the law, they are not only get the right to be protected but they are also required to be accompanied and protected before the law and get assistance to finish serving a sentence, it means not only stopping accompanied until the judicial process is completed but to obtain a decision final and binding. That is why there must be protection and fulfillment of children's rights of inmates in undergoing the punishment process that has been set by the court. Internship is also means to actively explore the science to go into the field and practice the theories that have been received during the lecture bench. With the practice of fieldwork activities, the students expected to get work experience and to apply the theory or knowledge obtained from lectures to be experts are ready to use, professional dan potencial. Benefits in implementing the internships to know and understand the basic tasks and Functions, working system, the performance of the staff / employees of the venue for street vendors (Kemenkumham DIY), Growing and enhancing the professionalism of the attitude the author takes the author to enter the real working world, authors gain insight and work experience can apply in the workplace writers later, applying the theories that have been obtained on campus into the world of work in this regard is the implementation of the Internship. There are some rights granted to inmates children as a form of protection and fulfillment of children's rights of inmates in prisons in the province, namely: The right to worship and get physical and spiritual care, the right to play and activities, the right to education and information, the right to adequate food, the right to health care, the right to meet with the family, and leave before the parolefree.
