Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) adalah konvensi internasional sebagai upaya dalam mengendalikan tembakau untuk kesehatan dunia di bawah naungan WHO. Indonesia yang statusnya sebagai negotiating state justru belum meratifikasi FCTC tersebut. Penulisan hukum ini membahas mengenai prospek keikutsertaan Indonesia dalam FCTC untuk mengendalikan jumlah perokok aktif maupun pasif. Kebijakan yang tegas dari pemerintah diperlukan untuk meminimalkan dampak negatif tembakau. Sejalan dengan itu Indonesia harus mengaksesi FCTC sebagai payung hukum pengendalian tembakau. Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) is an International convention that effort tobacco control for a healthy world under WHO. Indonesia's status as a negotiating state it has not ratified the convention. This legal writing is to discuss the prospects of Indonesia's participation in the convention to control the amount of active and passive smokers. The explicit policy of the government is needed to minimize the negative impacts of tobacco. In line with that Indonesia should accede to the convention as a legal framework for tobacco control.
