2014 | Skripsi | TEKNIK ELEKTROPetir merupakan salah satu penyebab gangguan dominan pada sistem distribusi, terutama pada jaringan overhead line. Intensitas petir yang sangat tinggi di Provinsi Riau, yakni 217 hari guruh per tahun merupakan acaman serius bagi jaringan overhead line 13,8 kV milik PT EMP Mallaca Strait SA. Menyadari kondisi tersebut, perlu dirancang sistem proteksi petir yang handal agar tidak menggangu proses produksi di PT EMP Mallaca Strait SA. Peningkatan performa sistem terhadap gangguan akibat petir dapat dilakukan dengan pemasangan overhead ground wire dan lightning arrester. Pemasangan overhead ground wire dengan sudut proteksi 25o mampu mengurangi probabilitas terjadinya flashover sebesar 95,7%. Lightning arrester akan bekerja maksimal mengurangi jumlah flashover jika dipasang pada setiap tiang. Kemungkinan terjadinya flashover meningkat sebesar 73% dari semula 0% ketika lightning arrester dipasang dengan jarak spasi 2 tiang dibandingkan ketika lightning arrester dipasang pada setiap tiang. Lightning is one of the predominant causes of disturbances on the distribution system, particularly in overhead line. Riau has a very high lightning intensity, which is 217 thunderstorm days per year. It is a serious threat for overhead line 13.8 kV owned by PT EMP Mallaca Strait SA. Recognizing these conditions, lightning protection system should be designed so as not to interfere with a reliable production process in PT EMP Mallaca Strait SA. Improved system performance can be done by the installation of overhead ground wire and lightning arresters. Installation of overhead ground wire with protection angle of 25o can reduce the probability of occurrence of flashover at 95.7%. Lightning arresters will work optimally to reduce the number of flashover when mounted on each pole. The possibility of flashover increased by 73% from 0% when lightning arresters mounted with 2 pole spacing than when lightning arresters mounted on each pole.
