PENGARUH INFORMASI PUBLIKASI TESIS TERHADAP CITRA PORTAL REPOSITORI DI KALANGAN MAHASISWA YOGYAKARTA (Studi Survey Eksplanatori Mahasiswa Pascasarjana UGM dan UNY Mengenai Informasi Publikasi Tesis Terhadap Citra Portal Repositori UNDIP)

Citra bukan yang utama namun citra yang baik dari suatu lembaga akan mempunyai dampak yang positif dan menguntungkan. Citra tidak timbul begitu saja, perlu proses dalam pembentukannya. Hal itu juga terjadi pada lembaga pendidikan seperti UNDIP. Dalam menjaga kemajuannya, UNDIP mengeluarkan inovasi untuk mendukung sarana belajar mahasiswanya dan lingkungan sekitar melalui layanan akses terbuka publikasi tesis pada portal repositori UNDIP. Melalui publikasi maka goodwill dari lembaga melalui layanan akses terbuka tesis secara online akan diketahui oleh publik dan akan membentuk pandangan positif. Pandangan ini yang nantinya akan membentuk citra. Tujuan utamanya yaitu untuk membangun atau memelihara citra portal repositori UNDIP di kalangan mahasiswa pascasarjana sebagai pengguna aktual tesis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei eksplanatori. Analisis data menggunakan program SmartPLS 2.0. Responden yang digunakan sebanyak 125 yakni mahasiswa pascasarjana UGM dan UNY. Sedangkan pengumpulan datanya melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sejauh ini informasi publikasi tesis online yang dilakukan UNDIP melalui portal repositorinya telah berhasil diterima oleh para mahasiswa S2 UGM dan UNY sebagai pengguna aktual. Hal tersebut terlihat dari respon dan persepsi positif mereka yang ditunjukkan dari intensitas seringnya mengakses portal repositori UNDIP dan menjadikan tesis elektroniknya sebagai bahan referensi penulisan tugas kuliah maupun karya ilmiah mereka. Ternyata persepsi mahasiswa yang positif berkolerasi positif pula pada citra portal repositorinya. Karena citra dibangun oleh kualitas teknikal yaitu apa yang mahasiswa terima dari pengalaman sebelumnya. Oleh sebab itu, mahasiswa UGM dan UNY dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan loyalitasnya dalam menggunakan tesis UNDIP dan menginformasikan portal repositori UNDIP kepada rekannya karena menganggap citra portal repositori UNDIP yang baik sehingga tidak menimbulkan keraguan untuk menggunakannya sebagai sumber referensi ilmiah. Namun diantara keduanya, mahasiswa UGM lebih loyal dibandingkan UNY dalam menggunakan dan mengakses tesis elektronik UNDIP. Terlihat dari intensitas pengulangan akses lebih banyak dilakukan oleh mahasiswa UGM yang yakin terhadap citra portal repositori UNDIP yang baik akan memberikan koleksi tesis yang berkualitas dan totalitas dalam layanan akses terbukanya dan dikarenakan disiplin UGM dan UNDIP sama-sama ilmi murni. The image is not the main important thing of an institution, but it may convey the institution’s positive and beneficial image. The image itself does not come in a sudden, but there is a process behind it. An educational institution such as UNDIP. Keeping its advancement, UNDIP has created an innovation to support students’ learning tools and learning environment through open access institutional repository of theses. Through this open access publications, UNDIP has created a good image of the portal repository. In fact, the main purpose of this image is to build or keep the good image of the portal repository UNDIP among graduate students as the users of the portal. This study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method. The data analysis used SmartPLS 2.0 programme. There were 125 respondents consisting of undergraduate students of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and State University of Yogyakarta (UNY). Questionnaires were distributed to collect the data. The results show that the information thus far conducted online publication of thesis through the portal repository UNDIP has been successfully received by UNY and UGM graduate students as the actual users. This is evident from the response and indicated their positive perception of the intensity of the frequent access the portal repository UNDIP and make electronic thesis as reference material and coursework writing their scientific work. Turns positive student perception correlated positively also on the portal image repositories. Because the image is constructed by the technical quality of what students receive from previous experience. Therefore, UGM and UNY graduate students in this study demonstrated their loyalty in using UNDIP thesis and inform the portal repository UNDIP to consider the image of her as a good UNDIP portal repository that posed no qualms about using it as a source of scientific references. But between them, UGM students are more loyal than UNY in using and accessing electronic theses UNDIP. Seen from the intensity of repetition access more done by UGM students are unsure of the portal image UNDIP good repository will provide a collection of quality thesis and the totality of the open access service and discipline because UGM and UNDIP equally pure science.
