PROGRAM PENGEMBANGAN KETERAMPILAN RESILIENSI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN SELFESTEEM PADA REMAJA BERSTATUS SOSIAL-EKONOMI RENDAH

2014 | Tesis | S2 Magister Profesi PsikologiKesenjangan sosial yang terjadi di beberapa SMP Negeri “Unggulan†Yogyakarta, khususnya di SMP N X & Y, memungkinkan para siswa berstatus sosial-ekonomi rendah untuk memiliki pandangan negatif terhadap diri sendiri dan lingkungan, merasa tertekan, tidak percaya diri, dan kurang mampu mengoptimalkan potensi diri (pre-elimenary study 2013). Dalam hal ini, self-esteem pada remaja merupakan faktor pendukung yang penting bagi pertumbuhan dan kemampuannya untuk menghadapi kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami. Self-esteem dikembangkan melalui pengembangan keterampilan resiliensi bagi remaja dalam kondisi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan self-esteem remaja berstatus sosial-ekonomi rendah melalui program pengembangan keterampilan resiliensi. Metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan analisis data berupa Mann- Whitney U Test digunakan untuk mengukur peningkatan self-esteem remaja sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Program pengembangan keterampilan resiliensi terbukti meningkatkan self-esteem secara signifikan pada remaja berstatus sosial-ekonomi rendah.
Social discrepancy that occurs in some state Junior High Schools ‘considered superior’ in Yogyakarta, including SMP N X & Y, allow the students of low socio-economic status to have a negative view of themselves and the environment, feel depressed, unconfident, and less able to optimize self potential (pre-elimenary study in 2013). In this case, self-esteem in adolescents is an important supporting factor for their growth and ability to face the adversities. Self-esteem is developed through resilience skills development program for adolescents in this condition. This research aims to improve selfesteem in adolescent of low socio-economic status through resilience skills development program. Quasi experimental research method with the data analysis in the form of Mann-Whitney U Test was used to measure the increase in adolescents’ self-esteem both before and after the intervention. Resilience skills development program was proven significant in improving self-esteem in adolescents that have lower socio-economic status.
