PERBANDINGAN DOSIS RADIASI GONAD PRIA DENGAN SHIELDING 0,35 mmPb DAN SHIELDING 0,50 mmPb PADA PEMERIKSAAN HEAD MULTISLICE COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY SCAN

2014 | Tesis | S2 RadiologiLatar belakang. CT memainkan peranan penting yang terus meningkat dalam bidang radiodiagnostik. Penggunaan sinar X pada CT memberikan radiasi primer terhadap organ yang diperiksa dan radiasi hambur terhadap organ disekitarnya. Gonad merupakan organ radiosensitif, sehingga perlu dilakukan proteksi radiasi untuk meminimalkan efek radiasi.Terdapat dua jenis shielding (pakaian apron) yaitu shielding 0,35 mmPb dan 0,50 mmPb. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan dosis radiasi gonad pria dengan shieding 0,35 mmPb dan 0,50 mmPb pada pasien yang menjalani pemeriksaan Head MSCT, sehingga dapat diketahui efektifitas shielding tersebut. Bahan dan Cara. Penelitian dilakukan pada pasien yang menjalani pemeriksaan Head MSCT scan. Subyek penelitian terbagi atas kelompok I dengan shielding 0,35 mmPb dan kelompok II dengan shielding 0,50 mmPb. Alat radiodiagnostik MSCT merk Philips Brilliance 64 slices. Alat ukur radiasi TLD diletakkan di atas permukaan kulit region skrotum, kemudian ditutup oleh shielding. Hasil Penelitian. Terdapat perbedaan dosis radiasi gonad pria dengan shielding 0,35 mmPb (0,0126mGy  0,0133mGy) dan shielding 0,50 mmPb (0,0045mGy  0,0069mGy). Secara statistik terdapat perbedaan bermakna p < 0,05; p = 0,004 antara kedua kelompok penelitian. Dosis radiasi gonad pria pada dua kelompok penelitian keduanya dibawah standar dosis radiasi gonad yang ditentukan Cohnen et al. Kesimpulan. Dosis radiasi yang diterima gonad pria dengan menggunakan shielding 0,35 mmPb lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan shielding 0,50 mmPb.
Background. CT plays an increasingly important role in the field of radiodiagnostic. The usage of X-ray in CT gives primary radiation on examined organs and scattered radiation on the surrounding organs. Gonad is a radiosensitive organ, so that radiation protection is required to minimize radiation effects. There are two types of shielding (apron clothes) which are 0,35 mmPb and 0,50mmPb shielding. The purpose of this study was to compare male gonad radiation dose with 0,35 mmPb and 0,50 mmPb shielding on patients examined using Head MSCT, to discover the effectiveness of the shielding. Materials and Method. This study was conducted on patients who were examined using Head MSCT scan. Research subjects were divided into group I with 0,35 mmPb shielding and group II with 0,50 mmPb shielding. Radiodiagnostic equipment was Philips Brilliance 64 slices MSCT. TLD radiation measurement was put on the skin surface of scrotum region, then covered by shielding. Research results. There was a difference in male gonad radiation dose with 0,35 mmPb shielding (0,0126mGy  0,0133mGy ) and 0,50 mmPb shielding (0,0045mGy ± 0,0069mGy). Statistically there was significant difference p < 0,05; p = 0,004 between both research groups. Male gonad radiation dose in both research groups were below the gonad radiation dose standard established by Cohnen et al. Conclusion. Radiation dose received by male gonads which used 0,35 mmPb shielding was higher than 0,50 mmPb shielding.
