2014 | Tesis | S2 Ilmu FarmasiWith the increasing life expectancy of the higher prevalence of hypertension and required intensive treatment to control blood pressure. Improved adherence and treatment patterns are expected to affect the success of therapy in the form of a decrease in blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This study was conducted to determine the effect of treatment patterns and adherence to treatment outcome of patients with hypertension in the outpatient clinic of internal medicine dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangkaraya. This study was an observational study with a retrospective cross-sectional study design. Samples were taken with consecutive sampling method. The data is retrieved compliance data obtained using questionnaires MMAS, treatment patterns and blood pressure values taken from the patient medical record. Further analysis of the data in descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis with the ChiSquare test method with 95% confidence level. Subjects were obtained in this study of 114 patients. MMAS adherence questionnaire results showed patients with low compliance rate by 65 patients (57%), moderate adherence levels of 34 patients (29.8%) and high compliance by 15 patients (13.2%). Differences in the level of compliance of the statistical effect on systolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), and diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.05). Patterns also influence the statistical treatment of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.05). This study concluded that adherence and treatment patterns affect the decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the Internal Medicine clinic dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangkaraya.
