Indonesia Kaya Akan Keanekaragaman Adat, Seni Budaya Dan Tradisi Sehingga Indonesia Terkenal Dengan Negara Berbudaya. Cakupan Budaya Sangatlah Luas, Budaya Dapat Dibagi Menjadi Dua Yaitu Budaya Tangible Dan Budaya Intangible. Budaya Tangible Seperti Cagar Budaya Sedangkan Budaya Intengible Adalah Seperti Gagasan, Sistem Nilai Atau Norma, Karya Seni, Sistem Sosial Atau Perilaku Sosial Yang Ada Dalam Masyarakat. Yogyakarta Adalah Salah Satu Daerah Yang Memiliki Banyak Budaya. Yogyakarta Terkenal Dengan Daerah Budaya Karena Kentalnya Budaya Jawa Dan Masih Melestarikannya Hingga Sekarang. Globalisasi Menjadi Faktor Kurangya Apresiasi Terhadap Budaya Karena Orang-Orang Lebih Memilih Mengikuti Budaya Asing Yang Lebih Modern. Maka Dari Itu Perlu Dilakukan Sebuah Upaya Untuk Tetap Melestarikan Dan Mengajak Generasi Muda Lebih Peduli Terhadap Budaya Daerah Sendiri. Dibutuhkan Sebuah Fasilitas Untuk Mendapatkan Informasi Mengenai Budaya. Fasilitas Tersebut Adalah Perpustakaan Dan Museum Budaya Dengan Desain Yang Dapat Merubah Presepsi Masyarakat Mengenai Perpustakaan Dan Museum Yang Terkesan Kaku. Konsep Bangunan Perpustakaan Dan Museum Yang Kreatif, Rekreatif Dan Inovatif Untuk Merubah Presepsi Yang Selama Ini. Konsep Bangunan Yang Dapat Mengajak Masyarakat Lebih Peduli Dan Lebih Ingin Mendalami Budaya Sehingga Mau Melestarikan Budaya Dan Menghargai Budaya Daerah.

Indonesia is rich with the diversity of arts, cultures and traditions which make Indonesia widely renowned as a cultured country. The scope of culture itself is wide and could be divided in to two categories; Tangible culture and Intangible culture. Tangible culture includes cultural heritage, meanwhile Intangible culture includes idea, value system/norms, artwork, social system/existing social behaviour in society. Yogyakarta is one of Indonesia region that has many cultures and widely acknowledged as Culture Region due to the strong Javanese culture along with its preservation. Globalization becomes a factor of the lack of public appreciation of culture due to people preference in choosing a more modern foreign culture instead of their culture. Therefore it is necessary to do preservation effort and also to engage youth generation to be more aware and concern of their local culture. A facility to gain information in regards of culture is required. A facility such as Library and Cultural Museum comes with a design aiming to change the current perception of society from the rigid image of library and museum. The building consist of creative, recreational, and innovative concepts to change such perception and have the capability to engage people to be more concerned in exploring the culture in order to preserve and appreciate it.
