Arsip dinamis inaktif adalah arsip dinamis yang jarang digunakan namun harus tetap dipertahankan untuk keperluan rujukan atau memenuhi persyaratan retensi sesuai dengan ketentuan undang-undang. Arsip yang aktif disimpan di central file sedangkan yang sudah inaktif harus segera disimpan di Records Center. Kegiatan pengolahan arsip inaktif ini meliputi penataan dan penyimpanan yang ada di Record Center Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Gadjah Mada. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi, ikut serta dalam proses pengolahan arsip inaktif, serta mengumpulkan teori-teori tambahan dari bahan pustaka. Dalam tugas akhir ini akan dibahas mengenai konsep dasar pengolahan arsip inaktif dari arsip itu diterima di records center sampai arsip tersebut disimpan. Kesimpulan dari Tugas Akhir ini, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Gadjah Mada telah melakukan pengolahan arsip inaktif secara terstruktur dan sesuai dengan ketentuan dasar manajemen kearsipan. Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya sumber daya manusia dan ruangan yang terbatas.

Inactive records is rarely used but must be retained for reference purposes or satisfy retention requirements in accordance with the provisions of law . Active archive is stored in central files while inactive records should be stored immediately in the Records Center. These activities include the processing of inactive records storage arrangement and Record Center at Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Data collection methods include interviews, observation, participating in the processing of inactive archive, and collecting additional theories of library materials. This research will discuss the basic concepts of records processing when inactive records in the records center was received until the file is saved . The activities include the processing arrangement of inactive records in Records Center at Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada has made processing of both structured and inactive records in accordance with the basis of records management . Obstacles that faced is the lack of human resources and limited space .
