Passenger movement in Soekarno Hatta International Airport has reached 59.7 million passengers in 2013, ranks it as the 10th busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic (ACI, 2014). This very huge number of passenger traffic far exceeds Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s existing capacity, which could only accommodate approximately 22 million passengers per annum. Consequently, one of the main problems arises from this condition is high density problem in passenger terminals of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. This research aims to analyze and assess current condition of Terminal 2 of Soekarno Hatta International Airport. The analyses and calculations were done in three ways; the analyses of overall terminal area, the analyses of facilities’ required spaces and the analyses of future needs of terminal area by employing forecasting method. The analyses of required overall terminal area were done by using Ashford et.al (2011) method, Horonjeff et al. (2010) method and JICA (1992) method. As for the analyses of facilities’ required space in terminal building, FAA (1988) and IATA (1989) methods were employed. According to Ashford and Horonjeff methods, existing Terminal 2 area is currently in overcapacity state for both domestic and international terminals with more severe overcapacity condition found in domestic terminal area (2F). JICA method concluded that overcapacity condition only happened in domestic terminal area. On the calculation of required terminal facilities’ spaces, FAA method showed that 6 out of 7 calculated domestic facilities had experienced overcapacity in 2013 with the worst happened in arrival hall and toilets area. According to IATA’s formulae in evaluating terminal facilities, 61.5% of calculated existing domestic facilities and 38.9% of calculated existing international facilities had already experienced overcapacity in 2013.
