Gerakan Ikh\sanul Muslimun pertama kali muncul di Mesir dan dipelopori oleli Hasan al-Banca. Setelah beliau wafat gerakan ini dilanjutkan oleh penerusnya seperti Sayyid Qutb, Muhammad al- Ghazali dan Y usuf Qardhawy. Dalam perkembangan selanjutnya gerakan ini sudah lebi h memusatkan perhatiannya dalam bidang politik dari pada agama, ha1 ini tercermin dari programnya untuk mendirikan negara dari pemerintahan Islam. Xamun demikian sampai saat ini citacita tersebut belum pernah berhasil. disebabkan terdapat hambatan yang cukup berarti dari pemerintali Mesir khususnya dan dukungan internasiorial pada umumnya. Akibatnya gerakan ini lebih pada tataran ide teoritis dari pada pi-aktis (cmpiris). hlunculn! a gcralian Ikh\canul Muslimun di kalangan blahasis\\ a l;G%l Yog! ;iliaria dischabkan tc.r-jadin!.a ..konflik-- terhadap religius teaching antara organisasi mahasislva Islam, sehingga ma1iasisu.a prig lebih memilih aspek politik menggabungkan diri dalam Serakan Ikh\vanul Muslimun. Di dalam gerakan ini mereka secara bebas memperjuangkan aspirasi politik disamping mendalami ilmu-ilmu agama. Salah satu ciri khas dari gerakan ini adalah melepaskan sitat ‘-radikal‘- meri-iadi lebih terbuka dalam menyikapi berbagai pcrsoalan sosial dari politik !.ang ter-jadi dalam kehidupan inas? arakat. 1)alain perkembangan sclan-jutnya kehadiran KAMMI sebagai salali satu orsanisasi mahasis\ca muslim banyak mengadopsi ide-ide yang pernah ditawarkan oleh gerakan Ikhwanul Muslimun untuk dipraktekkan dalam dunia empiris mahasiswa. Sekurang-kurangnya sampai dengan tesis ini ditulis, kehadiran KAMMI sangat banyak membantu dalam mewujudkan ide-ide tersebut, diantaranya melaksanakan ““daurah” dalam berbagai tingkatan dan memajukan semangat Islam di kampus UGM Yogyakarta. Akan tetapi pada era reformasi kecenderungan dari gerakan Ikhwanul Muslimun untuk terjun kedalam politik praktis semakin terbuka, ha1 ini dimungkinkan karena wadah untuk menyalurkan aspirasi politik itu sudah tersedia dengan didirikannya Partai Keadilan oleh alumni Timur Tengah dan juga mantan pengurus Lembaga Dakwah Kampus. Melalui organisasi ini minimal ide-ide yang pernah ditawarkan oleh para “the founding fathers” dari gerakan lkhwanul Muslimun dapat diwujudkan. Tidak salah jika Yusuf al-Qardhawy menyebutkan bahwa Purtui Keudilurz (PK) nzerupukan perpanjangun tungun duri Ikhwunul Musliniun untuk Indonesia.

Ikhwanul Muslimun movement first appearcd in lig!,pt and was pioneer by Hasan al-Banna. After his death this mo\ ement was continued by his follower like Sayyid Qutbi Muhammad al-Ghazali and Yusuf Qardhawy. In further development, this movement has more concentrate in politic than in religion. We could find in its program that is to develop country and Islamic government. Whereas, this program is not success yet, because especially there is a big obstruction from the Egypt government and International support generally. A s a consequence, the idea of this movement just in theoritic than practice (empiric). Ikhwanul Muslimun movement appeared among student of UGM Yogyakarta caused b!, "conflict" to religius teaching between Islamic student organization. so that the student N 110 prctkr t o choose political aspect -joined in llili\\anul .Vusliiiiiin mo\ cnicnt. 111 this movement they struggle the political aspiration fieel\. beside deepened the Islamic Studies. One of the caracteristic of' this tno\'etnent is throw out the "radical" to be more open in facing any social and political problem that happened in societb.. In further development the presence of KAMMI as one of moslem student organization adopted the Ilih\vanul Muslitnun idea to be practice in student einpirical norid. /\I least until the writer wrote this thesis. the presence of' KAM.MI \\as \;ery helpful in realizing the idea of Ikhwanul Muslimun.
