PEMOSISIAN PEREMPUAN DALAM KOMIK LA BD DE SOLEDAD EPISODE HÉLÈNE DE TROIE DI MAJALAH ELLE (TINJAUAN SEMANTIK)

Media sebagai sarana penyebarluasan ideologi turut andil dalam perjuangan perempuan meraih kesetaraan gender. Secara perlahan, perempuan memasuki ranah media dan menjadi aktor di dalamnya. Hal ini yang kemudian mendorong banyaknya media yang diperuntukkan khusus perempuan. Akan tetapi, tidak dipungkiri bahwa masih banyak pemberitaan dengan perempuan sebagai objek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana perempuan diposisikan lewat komik Hélène de Troie karya ilustrator Soledad Bravi. Cerita Hélène de Troie sendiri merupakan cerita mitologi Yunani. Penceritaan ulang yang dilakukan di masa sekarang tentunya membawa pengaruh pada pemosisian perempuan di dalam komik. Data yang ditemukan dipindai dan diketik ulang sebagai transkrip. Dengan menggunakan analisis semantik dan pendekatan makna, ditemukan aspek-aspek kebahasaan yang menggambarkan tokoh-tokoh di dalam komik, antara lain; nama, hubungan oposisi, sinonimi dan hiponimi. Keempat aspek ini memiliki fungsi masing-masing untuk menggambarkan dan memposisikan para tokoh yang ada. Ditemukan empat fungsi aspek kebahasaan yaitu penggambaran gelar, kaitan keluarga antartokoh, fisik, dan karakter. Fungsi ini muncul dikarenakan beberapa faktor, seperti faktor budaya, perbedaan kedudukan atau kekuasaan, penceritaan dari ilustrator dan cerita aslinya. Secara garis besar, para perempuan dan usahanya meraih kesetaraan gender ternyata masih sering dikaitkan dengan suami dan diposisikan secara inferior.

Media as a means for disseminating ideologies is used by women to promote their movement towards the gender equality. Woman enters the media industry, slowly but surely. She also becomes the actors behind the scene. That is why nowadays there are so many types of media specified for women. Although we still can easily find news featuring women as an object and marginalizing them, women’s position these days have become an interesting topic to be analyzed. The main goal of this research is to find out how women are being positioned, as seen through the comic Hélène de Troie by the illustrator Soledad Bravi. The original story of Hélène de Troie comes from Greek mythology. The story is rewritten in 2013 and brings effects to the women’s position in the comic. The acquired data are scanned and retyped as a transcript. By applying the semantic overview and the approach to meaning, five language aspects can be detected that are used to describe the protagonists in the comic, such as; naming, relational opposite, synonymy, and hyponymy. These aspects have their own functions to describe and to positioned the characters. Also found are four types of description: description of title, of family relation between the protagonists, physical description, and description of personality. The descriptions will vary due to different factors, such as: cultural, differences of power or status, writing technique of the illustrator, and the original story. It can concluded that women, in their efforts to achieve gender equality, are still being linked to their husband and placed under his, therefore positioned inferiorly.
