2014 | Tesis | S2 SastraThe objectif of this research is to reveal race and slavery in \\"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn\\" novel created by American writer, Mark Twain. There are two objectives in this research , theoretically it is objectived to reveal the existing social symptoms, to reveal race dan slavery both as individual and society members, to reveal race and slavery reaction as little society that is week, to give contribution to literary science development , particularly literar y sociology. Practically, it is objectived to give knowledge to people that both race and slaves as social creature have same role in the society. The research method used is descriptive analytic, it was begun by studying data related to the text, and describing the cohernt one, and excerpting it. Finally, analyze and conclude it. Technique used is analysis of literary sociology that is relating literature with a super structure in revolution period in America to reveal figure characterization of slavery as manifestation of author sociology. Particularly race and slave characterization through Huck and Jim in Huckleberry Finn with all opposition and similarity as ideo logical form that cover it. Result obtained in this research is slave as social creature have right of life, right of preservation in social life, slave as society member both as individual and family member, have same role in socializati on to others. Entirely form of inequitable, suppression, exploitation of slave should be concern and responsibility of all peoples in society. Class oppositions that have Marxism ideological nuance with slave society manifested in Huckleberry Finn novel as real form American revolution period is also beeing attention in this research, with capitalization system that divide class opposition and class compromization as solution to achieve conducive social life.
